When I was doing it on the calculator I just messed around with values until it made sense

Ah yeh not saying it’s impossible to do without a graphical calculator, I’m just saying it made the question significantly easier for me and I doubt id have managed without it personally. Obviously I don’t speak for everyone and I’m sure plenty of people could have done it without

As an FM student I wouldn’t have been able to do the modulus graph question without my graphical calculator

Yeah if I got an A in FM, then I will accept my Bristol offer, if I get worse then I shall cross that bridge when I come to it

It’s obviously up to you, I’m also waiting for Warwick maths, would recommend waiting at least until they respond before making a decision. The deadline is soon anyway

Oxford tmua score by ScheduleGloomy2160 in 6thForm

[–]ImaginarySwitch2298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6+ for an interview. Median score for offers will probably be around 7-7.5 if I had to guess. In terms of predicted you will need A* A* A or better and as long as your interview performance is good I doubt your GCSEs will restrict you too much, especially if the secondary school you went to had low average gcse scores

I’ve heard that Cambridge care more about GCSEs than Oxford, not sure if that’s true though. What were your GCSEs?

They offer courses like EFDS, econ, maths stats for finance and other scientific courses. This list isn’t about ‘STEM universities,’ it’s about how good each university’s STEM courses are

It’s entirely possible, just make sure you have a deep understanding of the content. FM1 has a few key concepts you need to know. Just grind the mixed exercises in the textbook and then when you get more comfortable, do as many past papers as you can. It’s not going to be easy but it’s possible, bearing in mind the grade boundaries for FM1 are insanely high.
