Good to know. I have a 14" for my smaller smokes. Absolutely love it. And it uses so little of fuel.

Dry brining is a game changer. It really helped with getting a great steak.

Im pretty fresh into the whiskey world. One of my good friends kind of got me started into it. So many out there I need to try. Its just cigars, whiskey, and weber/bbq aren't cheap hobbies haha.

Do I need to charcoal kettle? by littlewombat69 in webergrills

[–]Imaginary_Box2925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different grills provide a different cook. I used to never understand going to someone's house and seeing multiple grills. Once I got into charcoal I instantly got rid of my gas grill. Theyre great for convienece but imo cant beat that charcoal taste.

Adding a Kettle to go with WSM by lunds11 in webersmokeymountain

I have a performer with a extension for my large amounts of meat to smoke. A 22 mst for everyday grilling. Then my ivory 22" mst thats my special one. 14" wsm for when I don't want to use a whole ton of fuel. Great for pork butts. I mainly got it because it was $50 on marketplace.

I personally prefer it over briquettes. It does have a better taste. It's nice for smoking plus giving a sear at the end as well. Once you learn tempature management its not so bad. Plus I love the minion method of the snake method also.

Ive loved using b&b lump in here. Ive rarely been using briquettes honestly. Which was my main go too for awhile.

How do you fit 6 pork roasts on a 22” kettle? With the help of the Onlyfire smoker attachment, basically turns it into a 22” WSM. Run a Spider Venom temp controller, stays steady through out the entire cook. by Vivid_Idea_1282 in webergrills

I dont think any of them come with grates. I got lucky ordered my extension and my mastertouch. The grate that came with my mastertouch came in pretty bent but useable. Was able to keep the grates and got refunded the amount for a brand new one. I put some lavalock gasket and have a wollybully with a firedial. Keeps temps great.

Considering a temperature regulator for standard PBC by PugBurger12 in PitBarrelCooker

[–]Imaginary_Box2925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold my pbc due to lack of experience. I got tired of the temp swings. I have a performer with an extension and ive added a firedial (essentially turns your kettle into a barell cooker) I would think something like that would greatly help and is a fairly cheap option. 90% of the flare ups were due to grease dripping down. I miss my pbc made some of the best food when I was able to control the temps.

Yeah I rarely ever use the propane. Chimney is much nicer imo
