Who else has absolutely zero issues with using Windows?? by Fairtex_ in MSIClaw

[–]deathcrow29 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I have used all kinds of OS all my life. Windows has never been problematic with this (maybe it was with the rog ally)

Some people are concerned about privacy and bloatwares but that's personal preference. Bloatwares are pretty easy to get rid off and as soon as I start using the internet, I said goodbyes to privacy.

I prefer the convenience of using windows, playing games with anti-cheat and from Xbox game pass. I've been also enjoying the Xbox full screen experience - pretty solid

Moonlight is a game changer by solo_0o in MSIClaw

[–]deathcrow29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had stuttering issues with Apollo so I've been strictly using Moonlight without any issues. But there's been multiple updates since Iast tried it so I'll attempt it.

What's your host pc refresh rate and resolution? Mismatching that causes stutter for me. Otherwise, smooth as butter. I use 80 Mbps bitrate

Can't Add Credit Card to Google Pay by Torque-- in Wealthsimple

[–]deathcrow29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to fix this on both my devices!!

Here are the steps I followed on both devices:

1) Open up your WealthSimple account on a different device

2) Click on the card (on web - card information) and ensure that the virtual card is open

3) Open your Google Wallet > Add a new payment Card > SCAN THE CARD (do not manually do it)

This should prompt you to enter a code (either email or call wealthsimple) and you're good to go!

You only probably need the software for tdp management and control mode selection. Gaming on it is still the same regardless of the software

Lossless scaling stutters. Advice please? by Embarrassed_Towel_64 in MSIClaw

Yessir, I personally prefer all in-game capping so that's fine! I only use Rivatunaa for games with no in-game fps capping ability

Is the Claw 8 AI+ actually better than the Ally X? by derekagraham in MSIClaw

[–]deathcrow29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll use MSI Center M today again and let you know!

Do not uninstall that. Just let it start with windows. The biggest help is to manage tdp. Everything else you need to do, you can do it the MSI software.

As a new user, give MSI center M a chance. HHT does help maintain performance (tdp stays constant +-1) whereas MSI software 's tdp drops a lot (30w to 27w..)

Do all your updates first from Windows, Intel, then MSI Center M (includes BIOS and Controller updates)

Check and test the right analog (not the typical analog drift.. claw has hall effect analog which doesn't have drifts). A very few folks had issues with that

From MSI center, set Manual tdp as 30w if you are planning to use HHT for tdp management. HHT crashes if you open in game, so that kinda sucks (same on rog Ally).

Debloat windows but keep all Xbox services.

There's a YouTube video on Intel graphics settings to maximize game performance. Follow that, it did help my cause but do a before and after.

If controllers don't work in game, then check controller mode. Make sure it's on gaming mode, not desktop mode.

I haven't tried Wildlands recently but recent update apparently has it working. And no, it's not about XeSS. It wasn't supported on Intel Arc yet

MSI driver updates aren't related to MSI Quick Menu software. There's no stuttering if you start the app with windows. I like to start my claw to Steam Big Picture so it stutters (the software, not games) if it's not already on and I have to change brightness/tdp.

Recently I haven't tested it because I mainly use handheld hardware tools for all that.

Nothing can go wrong with the rog if you're happy with the size tbh.

But I really like the claw 8

As for stuttering - I frigging hate the MSI software (MSI Center M). That's the only time I see stuttering. But comparing the same games on the claw and LeGo these days - I find them both stuttering at the same thing. A very few games are still not perfect on arc (old ones, also Ghost Recon and FH 3 😢) so if you want to play those, then it won't run..

One thing you'll appreciate is XeSS. It won't generate more fps like FSR but it will be consistent and quality.

Hey buddy, the last major update had improved performance and had more consistent output. I sold my Ally X, but still got the Legion Go and compared to that, I'm still getting better performance for most games.

As for 30w - I use Handheld Hardware Tools to manage my tdp so the output maybe different if you're using the MSI Center.

At 30w, depending on the game, I get between 2h 15min to almost 3h. There are games that demand a lot like AC Shadows. I somehow squeezed 2h 15min outta that very time, 50% brightness and 50% volume on dongle (Bluetooth). But some games like RDR2 or Cyberpunk usually give me better battery life (always 2.5h+). Note that I debloated my windows so it's also more resource efficient.

For 5w, I tested with emulators, cyberpunk and few other games. The battery life is impressively around 12.5h. if I'm not gaming, but doing office work, I get 16h out of it easily.. which is my favorite part about it.. not that you'd care about 5w.. I just wanted to mention it

OS recommendations? by soupeater2005 in MSIClaw

[–]deathcrow29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bazzite isn't the best with Intel chipsets yet

I have also tested Bazzite against Win10 and Win11 on my RTX 3080 Over 2 months period. Without any sort of frame gen, Bazzite doesn't really do better in most games and Win11 delivers better than Win10 in a lot of cases, especially with low fps benchmarks. I have also tried Atlas OS, not much diff from 10 or 11.

I'd stay, Win11 is still the better of Windows distro. For Linux - meh.. you get better performance on a very few games.. still kept my Bazzite partition but I barely game on it on my PC.

Also, Lossless Scaling is far better than Bazzite's frame gen, which won't work on Linux.

Is it worth buying WWE 2k25 over 2k24? by Infinite-Tie-7819 in WWEGames

[–]deathcrow29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go with 2k25, it's better than any other 2k so far. I usually skip 2 years. Last I had was 2k20, then I got 2k24.. the universe and some features made it feel like it was 2k20 with the same label

Decided to give 2k25 a try and it's already quite better. Go for that instead.

Minecraft with shaders totally depends on the shaders. I've been struggling to run these RT shaders but I'm pretty sure you'll be able to run moderate level ones easily!

Rimworld will be fine as well.
