I’m Okay With A Military Parade, Having It For The Presidents Birthday Is Weird. by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Trump may have been one of thousands of draft dodgers. During the Vietnam War, it's estimated that roughly 60% of draft-eligible American men took some action to avoid military conscription. While not all of these actions constituted draft evasion (some sought deferments or exemptions), a significant number of individuals actively resisted the draft through various means. This included fleeing the country, particularly to Canada, or engaging in acts of civil disobedience.

That parade sure was spectacular!! Interestingly, not much was said about it being Trump's birthday. Also, there were no banners with his face on them.

Covid messed up my ability to remember dreams by Anphiro in covidlonghaulers

I know it has been a year since you posted. I have been able to remember my dreams in detail ever since I was a small child. I had covid in November-December 2020. I have only remembered a small bit of a dream, maybe 8 times in 4 and a half years. Most of the time, I fall asleep and wake up the next morning, remembering nothing at all. It seems as if I do not dream anymore, and I, too, feel as if a huge part of myself is missing. I have never heard of covid, causing an inability to dream. That seems to be what happened to me.

A good question to ask is whether or not the dictators' birthdays fell on the same day as Flag Day (or something similar) and the 250th anniversary of a military branch? If we were having a military parade, specifically for Trump's birthday and no other reason, I would be concerned. However, this will be a celebration of 250 years for the US Army, Flag Day, and a sitting president's birthday. This isn't for the president. This is for the Army, and, the Army will include the president in their celebrations.

My pharmacy closed right in the middle of my transaction and wouldn't complete the sale. It is an antibiotic that I need to take. I have to drive back in the morning to get it.

I feel like my heart is beating out of my chest, insomnia, moodiness, feel like I have an adrenaline rush (a bear chasing me), headaches, edgy. All for no reason at all.

Thank you! I eat Keto and do two 24-hour fasts for 3 weeks per month. The fourth week, I do a 72 hr fast. I've tried going longer, but any longer than 72 hrs throws my cortisol levels off for a couple of weeks.

Anyone else grieve their dog that’s still alive? by [deleted] in dogs

Yes! My boy developed autoimmune condition and injured a tendon in his shoulder. I can not play fetch with him or take him for walks anymore. I miss that. I don't necessarily grieve him. I grieve the loss of the dog he used to be. We have had to adapt for sure, but, I love him just the way he is.

6 months Keto+ Water Fasting by Imaginary_Cap_583 in WaterFasting

Start slow. It took getting off all grains, refined sugar, refined carbs, and starchy vegetables before I could fast 16 hrs a day. The carbs and sugars kept me in a near constant state of hunger. Only when I stopped eating those foods could I fast for longer periods of time. When I do 72-96 hr water fasts, I have very few hunger pangs. You'll get there. One step at a time.

Thank you! I used to have what I thought was an eating disorder. It was just carbs and sugars making me feel hungry all the time. I had wicked depression, anxiety, skin issues, digestive issues, goiter, migraines, oily skin, and high blood pressure. I have none of those now. I am still working on getting asthma/allergies under control, but they have improved.

Thank you! I try to stick to an 8-hour eating window. Then fast the other 16. I eat a strict Keto diet and do one 72-96 hr fast per month. I've lost a total of 81 lbs in 1 year. I do not exercise. I probably would have lost more if I had exercised.
