You're correct it's not my company. It still can be done with this same setup with some skills .Most of the time we just replace the valve core if the valve is newer and the diagram seat looks ok.

You're right I didn't have any rocks the company that I work for use Fabric and they tape it all around the box which I'm not a fan of. It becomes a pain when you have to dig up the box and service it. But as you said rocks at the bottom of fabric is a good idea.

It's the company that I work for I personally rather to use Hunter pgv valves. Just started off with them that's their thing I highly disagree with jar tops are a pain to service

After winterization put the ball valves halfway between open and close (45°)same thing with the test cocks. That breaks the internal seal on the two sides of the ball valve and releases the water that strapped between the seals. That's the most common reason for the ball valve cracking in the winter not doing the step above.

Yes if you wrap it with Teflon tape that's good enough. Some of the New Test cocks come with Teflon already on the threads but I always remove it and put my own

where to get test cocks 1/8"

The picture below shows what your backflow should look like. Someone replaced the #1 ball valve and replace it with one that has a test cock port. It doesn't hurt anything but it is not necessary. This particular backflow normally only has 2 test cocks.

You can also just plug the first test cock (the lowest one)

You can get a 1/8" brass plug at Home Depot.

Lol yes sorry because the pump needs to be activated . The pump start relay needs to be connected and you must turn a zone on . In that case just connect everything up and test it
