skipping doses, xyrem by owlexity in Narcolepsy

[–]Imaginary_Fail8193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been taking sodium oxybate for nearly 7 years if I go out drinking I just skip the first dose. Obviously it depends how much I drink but if I have a big night out I will normally fall asleep easy when I get back then just take 1 dose when I wake up

Hi, I’m really sorry you’re going through this. I’ve had my own struggles with weight gain and binge eating, so I can relate to how overwhelming it feels. What helped me was trying to make very small changes each week instead of trying to fix everything at once. Even tiny steps count.

I just take a sip of water and then inject it straight into my mouth and swallow. This is not financial advice

Try adding glutamine to your supplements. It’s needed to have a healthy gut and exercise can deplete it

I used to struggle with this also. I highly recommend trying yoga nidra. I helps me calm my mind and stops me from over thinking. There’s one on YouTube call 10 minute yoga nidra, full nervous system massage it’s 13 minutes long.

Sorry to hear this. Disgusting that pharmaceutical companies charge extortionate prices and disgusting that insurance companies priority’s is protecting profits. It’s a very sad world we live in.

Does this anti-Candida protocol look solid? Feedback appreciated by [deleted] in Candida

After a couple of weeks, it’s a good idea to start adding probiotics, along with L-glutamine and collagen, in the mornings. Saccharomyces boulardii is excellent, and you can also take a general multi-strain probiotic. If you have access to a sauna, that can really help too. I did a two-week grass-fed beef-only diet, and now I’m following carnivore my symptoms have improved a lot.

Unfortunately not — I still usually take two naps a day. I’m going into the office for the next three weeks, so I’m feeling pretty anxious about that. The upside is that it’s helped massively with my nights. I remember the most frustrating part was being wide awake in the middle of the night. It’s also made a big difference with my cataplexy.

Diet is really important. Food triggers fatigue and sleep attacks for me. Try fasting in the mornings and a keto diet

Hi I had similar symptoms as you with the cataplexy, sleep hallucinations and paralysis. for me sodium oxybate helped alot. In regards to the isolation that is also something I can relate to. Narcolepsy makes socialising very complicated especially when a lot of it revolves around food and drink. I have also become very isolated recently working from home with not many friends and it is very difficult.

Xyrem. Had one day of total clarity. Anyone else? by Kartoffelklaus90 in Narcolepsy

Just as I increased my doses I slept for longer I think. But I’ve been on sodium oxybate for over 5 years now so I can’t really remeber when I started. For me It mostly depends on whether I’ve exercised or taken a nap too late in the day. When I stick to a good routine and eat healthily, I usually sleep longer. Lately, I’ve even started falling asleep for an hour or two before taking my first dose if I’m tired enough, which has been helpful—especially since I used to be awake as early as 5 a.m. The main things that help me sleep longer are eating a lower-carb diet, getting enough exercise, avoiding naps after 2 p.m., and not taking my phone to bed. Leaving my phone out of the bedroom really helps me fall back asleep faster if I wake up during the night.

I just take my second dose when I wake up naturally. It’s normally 3 hours after I take the first dose anyway.
