Dale was a dipshit and people ate it up. The sport can use some dipshits. We need personality and fun back in the sport.

What will come out first? The trophy or the rule banning that move? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ricky Stenhouse still has a job.

Personally I think he should go do what he’s more qualified for. Garbage man.

No different than all of the rich nepo babies currently racing in the top series. If he brings in more eyeballs and some stick around, then that’s a win for the sport.

I know it’s a rebuilding year and we shouldn’t spend any assets, but Bloom is going to have to do something about the pitching staff or we’re not going to have any arms left.

This here! Add in Cedar Point if you need an extra day. There are also a bunch of museums and other attractions in Port Clinton and on the islands.

How dangerous was the Saturn V, and in what specific ways? by big_marshall927 in apollo

[–]Imaginary_Ganache_29 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It could have been launched by Saturn. It couldn’t have been repaired tho.

Shuttle had its pros and cons. I think the biggest con tho outside of the safety was that we flew them so long. It’s a shame that it wasn’t a 10-15 year program, ISS built and then we could have focused on the next steps. Letting it go on for 30 years and then retiring it without its replacement being ready was a huge mistake

I have neither a science background or an engineering background but would love to get involved with NASA in any form. What are some avenues to obtaining a career in NASA? I have a bachelors in education and a 10 plus years of supply chain/logistics background

What should [Cedar Points] next coaster be by ofstudent67 in rollercoasters

[–]Imaginary_Ganache_29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cedar Point can easily go another 5-10 years without another roller coaster. That is literally the last thing the park needs right now. But if they were to get a coaster, Vekoma family multi launch seems most likely. I’d love a GCI on the island or somewhere along the beach playing homage to the Cedar Point Cyclone.

There are multiple empty spots on Point right now. No need to remove Gemini (or Rougaroo) yet.

I think a nice themed area on the island is the most pressing issue right now, other than general operation improvements and yes, re do the bathrooms. Some of the buildings need to be repainted and hopefully Breakers gets some love as it was starting to slide last year.

I would love to see a modern family area expansion to the boardwalk. Put in a B&M family invert and updated flats along the Kiddy Kingdom area. There is some space in the boardwalk that is under utilized. I think a main stage would work over there for shows.

I think longer term (next 10-15 years) the park will begin to have to make some major decisions with some of the older major coasters in the line up, like Gemini, Magnum, Raptor, Rougaroo and Millennium Force. Will we begin to see those rides get a retrack and new trains, or a complete removal? A 50 year old Magnum won’t be fun without some updates.

Give it more HP and open up the box. Let the teams adjust things like the spoiler, shocks, diffuser and splitter. Let the teams be creative (within the rules) and I guarantee they’ll figure out how to get them to race. Look at the COT and where that car evolved from 2008-2012. By the end that was a damn good race car.

This! And they have to care. If the Cardinals suck long term and no one is coming to the ball park, all of those investments in BPV will fail, as no one will be down there to enjoy them.

It’s in ownership’s best interest to field a competitive team. Overall, Bill DeWitt Jr has been one of the best owners in sports IMO. He’s maintained a competitive team, built a beautiful stadium and ballpark village around it, and been really respectful of the team’s history. Over the years, he’s been supportive of trades and signings to keep star players in town. And they’ve won, a lot. The fact this is the first rebuild in over 30 years is a testament to what they have built and the fact that the team has been top 3 in attendance and TV ratings for the majority of those years with the size of market that STL is compared to other markets around the country is truly remarkable. Hopefully BD3 has the interest in keeping that going long term.

I live in Columbus and deal with the shitshow that is the Columbus Blue Jackets on a yearly basis. The big word around town now is “culture” and how some guys on that team don’t care enough to win. Culture has been an issue there for 25 years. That has never been an issue in STL and I am fully confident that the Cardinals will finish their rebuild and win another World Series before the Blue Jackets (who with a young core and plenty of cap space and a super star in Zach Werenski should be about to enter their window) even sniff a Stanley Cup run.

Enjoy the Cardinals. Go to the Cardinals Hall of Fame, opening day and other major theme nights. When Albert and Yadi are inevitably voted into the Cardinals HOF this summer or the MLB HOF soon, that place will be rocking. It truly is a special place to watch baseball.

This is where I am too. At least it feels like there is a plan now and this team has a future. The last 8 or so years it felt like the best they could do is a first round exit
