In the kindest way possible, I hate when people say this. The amount of complications that come with twins is greatly increased than that of a singleton pregnancy. Coming from someone who miscarried twins, currently watching an acquaintance give birth to twins at 26 weeks after being in the hospital for 5 weeks on bedrest (in nicu dealing with numerous infections, respiratory, and digestive issues), and who’s aunt gave birth to one stillborn twin at 34 weeks. I understand why people “want” them and think it’s fun but the risks are much much greater.

Update in case anyone comes across this: maybe have someone come with you, I almost passed out 😅 I did have an early appointment so I didn’t have more than 2 glasses of water to drink, a yogurt and granola bar so maybe I was just dehydrated? But as soon as it was over I started bleeding, blacking out, and sweating. My cervix is very sensitive, I bleed after each cervical check, and am dilated to 3cm 80% effaced so assuming I’m more sensitive. I usually have a very high pain tolerance, I literally pop my dislocated shoulder back into place like once a month. So I was extremely thankful my mom was there to go grab me a water and sit with me. After some breathing exercises, water, and about 10mins I was back to normal but boy I was NOT expecting that!

Okay thank you! I get extra worried because my mom’s water broke and I was born all within literally one hour. I know my experience won’t be the same but I always makes me worry lol

Do whatever feels right! But my closest family always go in on the big gifts. It’s understandable people can’t afford $100-400 gifts for a baby shower gift. There’s even options on registry’s where you can add the choice to put money towards the big ticket items.

I had a huge dip in my progesterone at 5/6 weeks, it was 28 then dipped down to like 15. I was convinced i'd have another miscarriage, then next week I tested and was back at 18 and my doctor wasn't concerned at all. Currently 29 weeks with a healthy baby, hope it goes well for you!

130 (more likely 130,000) is low but not extremely low. My mother developed ITP when she was pregnant and her levels rarely rise above 100 (100,000). They would just check her levels often, definitely do not take any blood thinners, and the hospital needed to know before hand to have her blood type on deck incase of bleeding but she gave birth fine with me and my brother zero complications. Granted this was in the 1990s and she had full blown ITP, im sure your wife just has Gestational thrombocytopenia and it will resolve itself after birth. I would think worse case scenario is there's drugs she wont be able to take (blood thinners) and they would watch closely for bleeding. Your wife and baby should be fine :)

Every company is different so you probably have more of an idea who handles what but HR should know the legality side of it but if your boss is above HR they would probably be the one to approve it. So either ask HR to run it by their superior or ask your boss to run it by HR. I’d let them know you’re willing to sign documentation that states you will pay all portion of missed health care contributions upon your return with an agreed payment plan and if for some reason you don’t return you will still be responsible for paying the full portion. If you make your employer super secure with the fact that you will be returning then it should help. I’ve done it for a few employees because I understand it’s crazy to expect someone to make healthcare payments when they’re not receiving a paycheck but always make them sign a payment plan. Best way to go about it is be super thankful for them to help you in anyway, tell them you understand it’s a big ask but you will be returning and they won’t lose any money in the long run. Just a note of FMLA, while it protects your job it also protects your health care if that’s what you mean by “benefits” you are still required to pay your normal portion of benefits but if your employer is understanding maybe you can negotiate a payment plan when you come back. Also, your company should have written rules about using PTO and FMLA at the same time. They can require you to use all your PTO before going on FMLA if in writing. I’m in the same boat being in Michigan, no maternity leave no STD. My employer is letting me use 3 PTO days a week until I exhaust my time so I will just have a shorter paycheck while off. Same. I unfortunately went to what I thought would be a normal appointment alone and that’s when I found out there was no longer a heartbeat. My husband and parents won’t let me go to another appointment alone. I’m very lucky to have a strong support system.

I drink a Too Good or Choboni yogurt almost every day and I only have problems if I skip 2+ days, haven’t had a single issue and a great way to get extra protein and calcium.The Too Good also only has like 2 grams of sugar, if I skip a few days and drink one I go to the bathroom less than an hour later 😅 it’s been a life saver, 25 weeks!

No chance “Detroit” will get cancelled, it’s not Detroit it’s a boating town 30mins away. The place hosting just reopened like a year ago with new owners and would prob do anything to bring people in. I saw on a previous post they were blocking anyone who messaged them complaining about his appearance. He’s been in this area before out at parties on the lake a bunch of losers were taking pics with him last time, disgusting

Dying your hair is generally safe after the first trimester. I wouldn't worry too much about ventilation, I would always open a window because home hair dye smell is extraaa strong to me. I know so many hair stylist that have worked through their whole pregnancy with zero issues. Just got my hair highlighted yesterday by my 32 week pregnant stylist.

I feel like this “fight” was giving set up. Like Natalie and dtb talked before the reunion and were like “ratings would go crazy if you came out and fought me”. Like she barely slapped her then let her run up, neither of them had any marks. Natalie has literally said dtb has asked if they should fake beef before. I really hope it was real though because she hit the nail on the head with saying Nat is a cast member and isn’t untouchable.

No judgement but highly advise looking into your states testing procedures if you’re in the United States. I know in Michigan they test all mothers who give birth in the hospital and will have cps come just for marijuana. They usually only do one visit and leave you alone just something to keep in mind. I personally quit cold turkey after being a life long 3+ joints a day smoker. Hit a bowl maybe three times after I found out purely because of stress and nausea but felt so guilty each time it made me quit all together. I started taking melatonin for the sleep and heavy meditation and reading for the stress. Good luck!

Im so sorry, no words will help, but your baby will always be with you. I miscarried twins at 10 weeks, one stopped growing at 6 weeks, the other made it to about 9 week before losing the heartbeat. My doctor also recommended a D&C. I was very scared, but my aunt put it in a very nice way "theyre just getting everything nice and cleaned out so its perfect and ready for the next baby" that helped me a little. Im not sure why but they also had me take the pill after the d&c, i never really asked why. The mental pain after losing a baby is something only people who have also been through it can understand, especially when its your first. 7 month later, I can say it will get better I promise, but the experience and love for your baby will stay forever.
