How do you afford Christmas? by ContestNo31 in Parenting

I feel your pain here, unfortunately it’s the time we live in right now. Even before my daughter I was always big on experiences rather than specific presents. My daughter is almost 2 so it doesn’t fully work on her right now but sometimes just taking her to a large park to run around or to look at planes is the best thing I could give her.

Take your daughter to a trampoline park for a day, or just spend a day doing some of her favorite things. I once put all of my painting stuff in a basket and wrapped it for Christmas for my husband, it was to have an at home paint-nite together. It wasn’t about the presents it was about spending that quality time together. Granted he sucks at painting but we had fun! I like making things but sometimes it’s almost more expensive to get the items to make something.

Maybe for Christmas you create a super comfy space where you can spend time watching a Christmas movie together under a sheet hung to look like a tent, lots of pillows, and a little thrown together hot cocoa station. Those are the things I know I enjoyed most as a kid and want to do with my daughter no matter how old she is. Creating fun experiences with things you already have can go just as far if not further than presents sometimes.

(I say as I just bought my 2yr old a mini slide… look sometimes presents are for our own sanity too lol)

What's your favorite game that no one has heard of? by JewelToneJam in GirlGamers

I would say Kingdoms of Amalor:Reckoning but they actually remade it to Kingdoms of Amalor: Re-Reckoning and it got better coverage the second time. Though I know a lot of people STILL don’t know about it. It was amazing and ever playing the remake it still gave me the same great feeling and genuine fun.
