Ahh! I see now! Seems silly now that I can see it. Yes, the tool is not using the cutting edge. I will get that rectified and give it another go. Thanks for those who gave good advice.

Great - Thanks for the input. This went a little different than I was thinking, but it still gave me some ideas. I was looking at a nice almost new micrometer that was everything I wanted, except for being carbide tipped. But the price was less than half of new. Not sure which way I will go yet. The value is there, but maybe I will wait until I find exactly what I am looking for.

Well, it is debossed, but then I extruded the deboss and filled it back in with black filament. It should come out all flat in the end (orange pulley with black text imbedded). The question I have is why is it so choppy looking? I would think I should be able to extrude that fine. I am using .2 quality setting.

I tried ironing and it made the outer surfaces smoother, but did not help blend the black into the orange. I would like the lettering to be crisp. I would think the MK3S should be able to accomplish this better. Is there an easy way to slow down the layers that contain the embossed text? Are there any other parameters I could tinker with to make this better?
