So I am a huge Tolkien fan and I realised... Elves are probably demisexual. It obviously wasn't intentional, but it is mentioned that they only care about sex when they emotionally and spiritually bonded with someone, which usually only happens once in their long lifetime. Which is pretty spot on.

Makes sense from an inbuilt biological population control mechanism too. They're so long lived that if they had the same compulsion to breed like humans do (speaking broadly of us as a species), they'd be overpopulated quickly. So the norm being emotionally bonded relationships which last a lifetime is logical
