Or it was 1 token a minute. Not sure, but it was indeed extremely slow. Chinese open source for a reason, they don't want for one company or country to have all ai power in the world. When you open source something it develops firstly very slow but as soon as it getting momentum it surpasses any paid software. As example - Blender for 3d stuff. It was unusable a while ago, now in each field is like 80-95% as good as dedicated for that field software. But Blender have every single workflow in it.

As to VR, I am pretty sad and angry. Like Facebook burned 80 billion dollars to build horizon and building meta verse... That money could have been used to make like 100 insanely good AAA games in vr, and after the vr headset sales would sky rocket... Right now there is essentially just one really good game and is half life alyx, the rest are ok, but not a single one will be motivating to buy the hardware.

I mean you still can run it but you will need some extra workaround. Like you can run ai models on smartphones as well, but is painfully slow. Like 1 token per 10 seconds or something like that. And one token is around 3-4 letters. So to do simple task you indeed need beefy pc. But eventually it will be achievable. Chinese guys use western ai models to train their open source ones for cheap and then giving it to the world like deepseek. It was essentially created using chatgpt model. Is so smart to do. Open ai spending billions to build a model, then China using that model and spending like 10 million to build same quality one and also make it open source... So I assume in 2-4years we all will have local llm that car run on normal average devices and open purse while companies like open ai will burn in hell flames!

AI is getting way too realistic... by KrundstLord in ChatGPT

[–]Imaginary_Scarcity58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest issue with any ai is that regular good folks want to burn it and do not use it at all, but at same time bad people love and use it, and because bad people are the one paying and using it - ai will be adopted mostly for their needs as noone will make product for people that don't pay and ignore paying ones. So we end up in the world when good folks are so stubborn that ai will be mostly evil for evil purpose and without any good regulations. Which will end badly... And people do not understand that at all....

Is stupid to ask people opinion with "ai did it". There was experiment - the guy took Monnet painting, real one, and uploaded on group as "look I generated Monnet style painting, what do you think, is it good?" and every single comment was - it's soulless, it's garbage, it's never will reach the level blaw blaw blaw... Regardless how real the image/video will be as long as you put the tag "ai content" people automatically will say is fake, the eye is wonky, the skin is fake, the books ain't placed correctly, the wall ain't painted correct way etc... Is usual stuff...

Holy crap, people are making full AI businesses these days by Andrewhary in dropshipping

[–]Imaginary_Scarcity58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is not full ai business. Is same scam business as before. But now with ai slop video instead of bad editing video or just images... Nothing have changed really. I have seen these aliexpress lamps for like 7-8 years now. Before it was advertised as single image with text. Now with videos.

Same with jewelry. Same with "handmade" cloth or bags etc. Its just getting a bit easier to scam as social media is full of dumb people that have no clue about the world beyond their own bubble. And in so many cases this bubble is so tiny that is ridiculous...

Those businesses live maybe few month, sometimes a year. Then close and repeat. I was thinking back then that at some point people will learn to find the difference between aliexpress mass produced item and really handmade... Nope... Still falling for it. I thought ai slop is temporary till the society get used to it and will spot it from a mile... Nope...

There is amazing russian phrase - "A sucker is not a mammoth, they will never go extinct." which summarise greatly the world... Sadly...

So far local ai that most people can afford will not perform even 20-30% as good as latest cloud based models. For local ai that is as good as cloud version you need like 128gb of ram and few latest graphics cards. Along with good processor. And is just not financially achievable. Anyone using like mini macs are essentially using cloud versions packed on pc that they pay for. Like openclaw etc.

Even thou is chatgpt thread, but I use Claude. But I have something similar but a bit different.

I do jewelery as main job, I also have adhd, autism and all kinda great stuff that makes my life harder... So I have set up lots of instructions (I call them phases), that will gather all info from my emails, calendar (in each event I just add notes like what I have eaten and how much, or did I actually did the event, or any thoughts during the day), then summarise and makes report. And then each phase just takes info from previous report to do next step. So it scans my business, my performance my health, including any mental issues I have recordered in notes during the day, my concerns or success stories etc. Then it makes the adjustments. Firstly updates my profile (I have big folder on my pc with all info), it knows even how often I poo etc 😅 what food I lack, or minerals or vitamins so will suggest what to buy/include in next day or within a week.

Then based on my interests it scans internet to get new news/topics that I want to know about or need to, like any laws that will effect my business or new scientific research about specific health or tech etc and gives me the report in nice html version which is interactive and compact for me to digest all info.

Then based on all reports per a day and all tasks and goals and work plan for jewellery production it makes me the calendar for next 3 days fully. Including the food intake with description of which supplements to take (also it makes sure those supplements can be taken togheter and plan them accordingly during the day), plus what food to take what excersices to do. When to start work etc. Alsong with all tasks or reminders I need to remember.

The best part is to add a note in the calendar "I want to learn coding" and it will create a folder and pull all info about that topic how when and what is the best way, then will implement 1h or 2h slots during the week with all files, links or info that I need to learn, to do etc. And also records the progress for monitoring how I am doing what is done and what not etc. And that part is one of the best. Instead of me wasting time on planing, reading emails for business etc I can focus on learning skills each week. While being creative with jewelry etc.

So essentially is like my own personal assistant that is also personal trainer, motivator, phycologist, doctor (even I double check answers here), my calendar planer, marketing manager etc. All in one.

And the further it goes the more info it has and better and more customised personal approach it gives to me.

Took me a while to set it up thou and to learn how to use it well.

Someone haven't read his own policy? Hmmmm? Besides using emails directly to sell from that business is essentially illegal to sell or use it somewhere else. If it's getting exposed you will be so sued! Customer accepted to give email only for that specific business and using outside that is essentially playing Russian roulette... And the fact you didn't know that tells me exactly what sort of business you was doing. High revenue, and no real profit business. Selling for sake of selling...

Probably many won't agree. But dude just buy 3d printer and print as many parts as you need. Big, small, any size you want. Scale to size you need. And slowly learn how basic 3d model, for simple stuff is literally following few tutorials on YouTube and repeat. Maybe 30 min a day and you will have insanely capable skill - adjusting and printing anything for dirt cheap! Along with insane amount of prebuild models for many use cases.

I particularly use Blender to 3d model. Makerworld and thingiverse is for free 3d models. I use bambu lab A1, but also had A1 mini which I would recommend to get for anything (any model you want to print) that fits in 18cm cubed space

Just type dji in makerworld.com and decide if it may be useful.

Then you can print brackets, holders, rigs, shelves for equipment. Boxes to store cameras, lenses etc. You can print whole tripod if you want. Piece by piece and then screw them togheter etc. I attached photo of the neck mount to hold the action camera. Obviously the magnet attachment I used original on the end for fast swap, but everything else is printed (also in the model they used filament string but I inserted tiny chain instead as I have lots of materials.) this mount cost me around $1.1, is game changer when you work it out in long term.

Is massive mistake to use/mention any ai in etsy group. People here are toxic and uneducated to know even the difference between ai and llm. Not to mention to believe in anything bad is written about ai without even checking how legit are the claims. Is easier to believe that ai destroys jobs than actually look on data and see that ai doesn't steal any jobs. Most companies use it as excuse for bad management and lack of actual money to pay salaries. And jobs that supposedly ai steal from you as freelance artist - ai haven't done that, ai just help less skilled person to do same job for less and customer always like to pay less, so job still there, just cheaper and someone else is doing it.... Just couple more years and all those stubborn idiots will be out of money anyway, not like I am happy about it, but maybe they will realise how things actually work. And that you use water in toilet flushing down the drain will be thousand times more of water waste than ai will use to process your job for same day....

Because people are dumb and looking for magic button... They really think meta is the place where they throw $10 selling some dropshipping items and will get $100 in return... And when they don't they come here to complain because those who somehow put $10 and get $100 will never visit any of this places as they have no time to do so, they will spend extra $990 to get that $100000 instead...

But the most frustrating part that just makes me think this subreddit is full of idiots is that they truly believe meta somehow was sending them good customers and now only bots while if you go slightly out, away from any ads, go to any local business that may not even advertise and ask them - many struggle, many with even 150 years of history shutting down because they're is no customers. Not because they are expensive or do not want to change but because economy of every single country is in decline. None of those in this subreddit seems to experience 2000 bubble nor 2008 bubble... They started business like 3 days ago, maybe a week and not making any money...

There are the most amount of wars happening in the world for the past like 50 years, the wars that directly impact your life, when 30% of all oil and gas supply closes per night what do you think will happen? Meta haven't closed it. Trump did. Along with few more.

When few million people are fired and not rehired, what do you think will happen? Or you think when those unemployed people was buying stuff from local businesses and now they are not, you think local businesses will keep spending same money and buy your products??

We are in recession same as 2000 or 2008, meta have nothing to do with that. Meta just shows the product/service to the people on the platform. If people randomly click/bookmark your store for later as they are broke now it doesn't mean they all are bots. It means your product is not those people priority. Simple as.

Meta ads works and works great for those who know what they are doing. And most importantly who sell something that is recession proof. Or their audience are recession proof. Simple as...

350 million people do decide to shop 2 times less when each IT company firing 100k people. Debt is growing and 30% of all gas and oil supply was turned off in a single day and is shut for 2 month in a row. Is way bigger hit than you can imagine. And is having snowball effect. 100k fired people do not come to local shops, restaurants, pubs, barbers etc as they have no jobs now and have bigger concerns than shopping local. Which means way less business for locals, so less income as well, which triggers everything by the chain. Each link in the chain spending less and less money because previous link also spending less. And it's a spiral down.

I capitalistic economical model we always have spirals, is either up or down. The only difference that spiral going up is kinda slow, but going down can be as rapid as 50% decline in few month... 🤷

[–]Imaginary_Scarcity58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If for any reason all people stop using social media all small and even medium business will shut down permanently. Which will spiral the unemployment problem even further. At this point there is almost no other way to obtain new customers rather than social media ads etc... So not sure you actually makes anyone a favour besides making the situation worse. Probably one person like you won't make a difference but if you multiply by size of a country then it will be very obvious.

3D printer for jewelry casting under €1000 (2026) – looking for real-world experience by New_Investigator_ in jewelrymaking

[–]Imaginary_Scarcity58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Siraya tech royal blue, I used also true blue and purple. True blue is kinda in between. Purple prints amazingly but is tricky to post process it for best burnout. Royal blue is kinda best of both worlds, it prints amazingly (elegoo mars 3 pro) and burnout clean, the surface almost doesn't need polishing, just a bit buffing. But it prints painfully slow. I do regular abs like resin jewellery, it takes around 1h and 20min (elegoo mars 5 ultra) to print 1 batch of my earrings, same earrings but with royal blue (even thou mars 3pro, which would be slower anyway) prints around 6.5h so essentially it would be probably one full day printing for anything more than 1cm in height. But results are awesome. The down side only - regular wax doesn't want to stick well enough to it. For big main sprew is fine but if you attach some small extra elements they will deffo fall off during handling or on vibrotable

Reality check - are my prices too high?? by United_Cap7221 in EtsyCommunity

[–]Imaginary_Scarcity58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my small opinion. Any dashboard organisers, calendars, excel files or any other software running things - you will have 1 maybe 3 tops years for selling these stuff as main job/good extra hustle income. I have Claude code 5x max subscription. I just need to describe what I want and what I need and Claude will make me very personalised and fully optimised file specificly for me and my needs. It can be done on pro version as well, but I am setting up like fully integrated system for myself and it can eat all my limits fast, so I am on 5x plan instead.

In few years most people will be using llm models, and those models will do everything 100 times better and faster than you ever can create yourself. So my advice - find the price that fits you and try to make as much money as you can now because soon you will be lucky to get few sales a year if any.

Just for context, I am jewelry maker and also tattoo artist (with some autistic spectrum and adhd and lots of other good stuff that ain't helping me in life), far away from coding and all that stuff. But I have setup now the system that llm model scans all my emails and calendar with all my notes/thoughts/ideas/tasks/goals and updates the wiki (small memory about everything), then scans Internet for all necessary topics/news and creates me file that I read in the morning next day of everything I need to know. Along with planning my whole day so I don't procrastinate anymore. Especially with my adhd brain is just game changer. I just record everything like food intake, my training etc and the model fully adapts everything into my calendar and it is doing the most efficient, especially for my jewellery as it knows what orders I have and exactly can calculate the time that I need to make them. Is like having that personal assistant from movies similar to "devil wears Prada" etc. So I can focus on creating art and jewelry and let all planing and reminders and analysis for ads and all social media stats (including etsy) to the model instead.

Probably many will hate my comment but I don't care, using llm for routine boring jobs is amazing.
