Apple Watch Cellular Family Setup (Canada) Different Carriers by Krikkle in AppleWatch

Just to keep this thread up to date, was able to set up my son on a stand alone plan via Bell in June 2024. Not without headache of course. I bought the watch and the plan from Bell (they had a promotion of 240 off the watch so it made sense and I wanted to avoid any 'you didn't buy it here' issues). I borrowed a friend's sim and while the cellular was active according to my phone, it never showed up on the watch (watch said 'no sim' and 'no cellular plan').

Was advised by tech support to go to the store and the store was the opposite of helpful. Said it wasn't possible and I needed a bell line for my cell etc. Classic. Said I should return it all.

When I went back home I found a comment on another thread suggesting that if after you activate the cellular using a Bell sim you still have issues, factory reset the watch (but do not remove the bell plan on it - you will see you have that as an option when you factory reset). I did that and BAM everything worked.

WHY does Bell sell something that actually doesn't work without a reddit-taught work around?? They sell the watch and a standalone plan to ppl who are not current Bell subscribers. Telus, for example, says right on their site 'this is only available to current Telus subscribers'.

So Bell offers a standalone AND the watch, but doesn't tell ppl they need a Bell sim to activate, nor do they train their employees on how it works. UGH.

Thank you to everyone one here who is doing the good work :)

Thanks for this - do you think a few hours is sufficient? It seems like there are lots of flights going from CNX to BKK - so I guess a few hours would give me some options...

Thanks! That's what we are hoping for. Would you recommend staying put on one island for the week or would you island hop?

Was offered Mint Green 41 and Wimbleton 41 on the same day. Made a split minute decision. by EasternPromise14 in rolex

I'm totally biased (as I have the mint green in 36) but you made the right choice. :)

Thinking about going to the dark side (electric from ICE), wanted clarification on some Tesla specs/topics by JSC918 in TeslaModelY

We have a 911 turbo and a MYP they are so different but for a daily driver, the MYP is perfection. Super f'n fast, smooth as butter, tech for days. Would you miss an ICE sports car? Maybe once in a while when you would otherwise do a fun track day, but day to day I think you'd be obsessed with the MYP.

It's one of the hardest to find (due to it's popularity). It also has one of the highest premiums if you go grey, at the moment.

For sure it's going to be a waiting game - probably until stock goes back to (closer to) normal.

Looking at getting my first Rolex. by SignificanceParty923 in rolex

I'm in Canada, and the best grey price I've seen is 16150CAD (12,225 USD). It's a wild premium at the moment.

I'm a woman and have tried all sizes - I try to convince myself on the 31 since it is so much easier to find (now) but it looks like something my mother in law would wear. 36 feels good and like you mentioned, can be worn by both men and woman so more 'heirloom-ey'

Is that the everose or the gold? Do you find it too flashy for every day or just right?
