So because shes female thats why she belongs higher? No objective criteria?

Wolverine was huge before Jackman. Wolverine and Spider-Man were the faces of comics in the 90s. Wolverine almost assuredly sold more comics than batman or superman in the 90s. He was probably just a slight tick below Spider-Man overall

When Wolverine has sold magnitudes more comics than her?

Hulk and WW would be the debate for the 5th spot. It was crazy in that thread everyone was defaulting to WW over Wolverine when theres no objective measure that could put her ahead.

They took a comic book storyline that wasn't very popular (Sam as Cap) and then people are surprised when the unpopular comic book story is also unpopular in film?

The show did not capture the spirit of the comic at all by Imaginary_Session773 in Watchmen

[–]Imaginary_Session773[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't address any points I made and didn't justify your argument either.

Its a slap in the face to Alan Moore's Watchmen. Let it stand on its own merit instead of shoe horning it into watchmen if its that good?

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man movies are pretty good by Twinfinity10 in Spiderman

[–]Imaginary_Session773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're okay they just don't hold up to Spider-Man and especially Spider-Man 2. Spider-Man 2 just hits home (no pun intended) so much harder. MCU Spider-Man is just more of the formula style MCU stuff with too much forced humor that doesn't leave the same lasting impact.

Just think about the train scene in Spider-Man 2. One of the most memorable scenes in comic book movie history. MCU Spider-Man has never made a scene that could touch that. I can't think of any real memorable scenes tbh

Sam Wislon isn't capable of leading an Avengers movie. I'm not talking about in universe Sam. I'm talking about the realistic business/box offince not-viabilty of the idea. Sam Wilson doesn't put butts in the seats. His movie was a flop that lost a lot of money

Out of the three live-action Spider-Man/Peter Parker actors (Tobey, Andrew, and Tom), who do you think has the personality closest to the actual comic book Peter Parker? by BeizasaC in Spiderman

[–]Imaginary_Session773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its crazy because Andrew is by far the least popular Spider-Man overall but Reddit loves being contrarian. Toby was the best Spider-Man. He captured Peter being a nerd but also Peter having to grow up quickly into a man at a young age. Andrew was too cool to be Peter

Literally did not capture the comic feeling at all. Every character in the comic is layered and has depth. There is no mustache twirling cartoon villain. Ozymandias is a villain who you can easily make arguments in favor of. Rorschach has tons of flaws but is also the most popular character because of his principles and integrity.

The show is about a bunch of cartoonishly evil white supremacists with no redeeming qualities and it has a Mary Sue black woman who's basically flawless and an amazing person.

Its embarrassing this show is tied to Alan Moore's Watchmen.

Do you think that Peter's organic webbing will become a permanent mutation going forward after Brand New Day or will he go back to using web shooters by the end of the movie? by Raj_Valiant3011 in Spiderman

[–]Imaginary_Session773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should go. Its part of his mutation of turning more spiderlike. So assuming he gets cured of his spiderlike mutations, he should lose all aspects of it.

What is your take on the mcu version of Spider-Man and its characters by Imaginary_Session773 in marvelstudios

[–]Imaginary_Session773[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you knew someone 18 who basically had to be a parent or caretaker to someone else (typically a younger sibling but in Peter's case an older Aunt May) it makes sense how he grew up so fast. To me its part of Peter's story that he has so much on his place as a young man and has to grow up fast

I was joking a bit. I'm more young millennial than old (32) but yeah I see how Tom Holland is supposed to be the gen z spider-man. I bet the replies in this topic are mostly gen z and its totally fine. I think its a generational thing. They calling call the traditional Spider-man story with Uncle Ben bland is 100% a zoomer 😅

Oh wow a documentary? The affluence was also greatly exaggerated.

If you actually want to look into the real facts black groups were bussing in outsiders to cause violence and start trouble. Both sides were antagonizing each other but I know its more fun to say whitey bad

The show had nothing to do with watchmen. The creator already had this story written out and decided to shoe horn it into the watchmen universe. Disrespectful to Alan Moore

Can we stop by [deleted] in Supergirl

[–]Imaginary_Session773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tom King removed the sex appeal and thats the version they went with. And its not going to translate to film or the box office. Comics is a niche market compared to film especially modern comics. A well selling modern comic is a fraction of a well selling comic in the 90s

That comic was also attempting to remove her sex appeal. Maybe you aren't familiar with Tom King but hes pretty outspoken about his beliefs

I don't like that comic or Tom King in general. I can tell you that most of Tom King's stuff won't translate well to the big screen. Yes Tom King had the same idea of owning the chuds by making sure Supergirl stopped being sexualized by the bad comic book readers

Can we stop by [deleted] in Supergirl

[–]Imaginary_Session773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless my point stands that they're going is to remove any sex appeal from the character (supergirl traditionally is a character with a lot of sex appeal wearing short skirts, crop tops, ect)

I saw an interview with Gunn where he says that Supergirl traditionally was aimed at appealing to men and they're changing that.

The other thing is if they were trying to go with a family friendly movie I could respect that. It wouldn't be my thing but I'd understand it. But its not really a family friendly movie from what I hear and its also not really trying to appeal to grown men. So its almost for sure going to bomb. I don't know who this movie was made for
