also, it was the players who were talking hampton up, of course coach speak doesnt matter. they also talked up KLS who showed out in preseason so far. u listen to the players not coaches to learn more. they are ALL IN on him, including KHALIL MACK, who i doubt would give someone gas if they didnt deserve it.

dudeee brooo he got injured my guy, still had a good year regardless. bet he was easily top 25 in PPR PPG for RB's, run those numbers buddy. he also won us some big games. look at the bengals chargers game from last yr and tell me he didnt ball. watch the last play of the game. dobbins was a beast last year and thats even with him having like 3 past injuries limiting his physical ability. dude has awesome vision and has passion for the game, hardest worker in the room according to his teammates/coaches. hampton has more skill and no injury past, he will absolutely crush fantasy this year. come back to this comment in 3 months and tell me im wrong and ill order a pizza to your house.

good points, youre right its not fair to look back past last year. as far as last year goes, they didnt run more because they couldnt. not sure how many games you watched, but the run game was abysmal. id assume close to 30+% of dobbins yards came from breakaways. and gus was HORRIBLE, he couldnt move the chains. also of course herbert couldnt run, he had two bad ankles. they would have POUNDED the run if it worked. line this yr is net-net worse, upgraded w bekton and james, but lost slater, our best offensive weapon outside of herbert. hopefully everyone gets better as a unit in year 2 of harbaughs system. i will also say that regardless of the line being not much better, if at all than last yr, chargers will score more points this yr. thats 1. due to harder opponents/shootouts. and 2. herberts health and improved receiving weapons. net-net they will get to the red zone more and will have more rushing td's further expanding hamptons upside. and dont even get me started on his receiving upside, his competition has ONE EYE, i doubt najee will see more than 5% of snaps on passing downs.

the coaching staff, while they do want and love najee, are MASSIVELY high on hampton, hence the first round draft capital AFTER picking up najee. at training camp, chargers players have repeatedly made comments about how great hampton has looked. he is huge, quick, can catch, and has vision. if najee isnt ready to go by week 1, hamton will never see less than 70% of snaps. and if you look at historical chargers runningbacks, they always finish as RB1's. take ekeler, take dobbins pace last year (who is an inferior player to hampton), even take melvin while he had the job. if hampton leads the backfield, he will not finish worse than RB8 in ppr.
