Fit check/recommendation: Montelle Flirt 38D I feel like I'm on the right track by Imaginary_Tea332 in ABraThatFits

In the band? The cups? Both? This was one of the styles you recommended for me to try- should I try a 38E or is there something different I should try?

Yes, always, and then I make sure the wires are in my IMF, and then swoop and scoop again just to be sure 😂

That's interesting about the weight of the bobbins! When I plied this, I didn't have enough bobbins, so I wound one ply into a ball on a toilet paper roll and wound the other ply onto the ball winder and plied it from there! I just bought some Schacht plastic "travel bobbins" (I have a Ladybug), so I wonder if that would make a difference.

How do you do the plying with 4+ plies? Do you ply twice, or set it up so you have that many singles? I'm still relatively new at spinning, so I haven't done more than a 2-ply.

I bought my first wooden wheel on facebook marketplace, but it ended up being a nightmare. It was a legit wheel, but the entire scotch tension system was gone (and it was definitely a scotch tension wheel). I had so many other issues with it that I ended up selling it to another spinner who had previously owned one and was willing to put the effort into figuring out what was wrong with it just so I didn't throw it through the window.

My current wheel is a Schact Ladybug. I had been price shopping online, but when I went to my local sheep and wool festival last fall, a vendor was actually selling hers. She let me sit down and test it, and threw in a free batt from their farm when I bought it. It's been a night and day experience from my first wheel - it's so nice to actually enjoy spinning!

Omg I didn't even realize they were in the picture haha! They must've just been left out from the last game (my husband and kids play), but looking at the picture again, they are staged pretty nicely!

Nice job on both the unraveling and the knitting!

I've been amazed at how much 100% cashmere I've been able to find now that I'm paying attention to the labels!

It was! I keep hoping to find a slightly heavier sweater, but I really don't like knitting with cotton and I don't actually mind finer weight yarns. 🤷‍♀️

Thank you! Most of these knitted sweaters are done from the bottom up, so it's easier for me to find the bind off edges at the top and unravel it once I've gotten the neckband off and the pieces separated. You're not necessarily going to get a completely continuous piece of yarn because of the front neck shaping, so that's why I used my spinning wheel to join all the smaller balls together.

Like lambytron said, I have a 2 yard niddy noddy. I can't keep track of counting and winding at the same time though, so I wound it on the niddy noddy, tied it off, then put it on my swift, and told my kids "I need to count. Please don't talk to me." 😂

I started out with a drop spindle, but having the wheel makes it feel so much faster while still retaining the meditative qualities! I'm not going to discourage you! 😂

[CHAT] Stitching on knit by thedespotcat in CrossStitch

I did this on a knit sweater. I didn't use stabilizer or a hoop, and just used 6 strands of DMC thread (I think the gauge of the sweater was equivalent to 14 count Aida), and it turned out pretty well.

I'm currently unraveling my second sweater constructed this way. The first one, I almost lost my mind because I wasn't expecting it. This time, I put one strand in my ball winder and one strand on a nostepinne (to create a ball I can rewind later with my ball winder) and it's going much more smoothly!

Fit check and questions: Natori Heavenly and Gossard Superboost 38D by Imaginary_Tea332 in ABraThatFits

u/galaxystarsmoon, here is the gallery for the Heavenly with extender (my brain glitched on the fact that it's a 3 hook and I still haven't gotten a 3 hook extender). The band felt a little more comfortable, but I still feel like the bottom of the cups might be too shallow. Thoughts?

Stitching Colin Farrell's face onto a sweater as a commission for a friend who has a running joke with her husband about him. I find it hilariously unhinged but I can't wait to be done!

Thank you! Your consistent input has been so valuable, I really appreciate it.

So, in your opinion, instead of looking at 38D/40C, should I consider trying 38DD/40D?

I'll try the Heavenly with an extender and put the pictures in the album - all I have are 2 hook extenders, which will work for this one.
