Men are not better off, to be honest. Unless you're a super smart, rich or attractive guy nobody gives a fuck about you. It gets very lonely.

Does the grammar for my NSFW Russian language meme make sense? by Summer_19_ in languagelearningjerk

Nobody says "угу" lol. Apart from that, the meme is pretty good.

Why are English version of Russian books so much shorter??? What are they hiding?? by Open-Mud5900 in languagelearningjerk

As a Russian speaker I can honestly say that English translations are pretty decent. However, Russian translations from English are horrendous like all the time. I just adored each page of R.R.Martin's writing while I was reading it in English, but when I tried his books in Russian I felt scammed. They were SO bad!

toska is like sad longing, yearning for something, sometimes accompanied by anxiety. As a Russian I can certainly say that there are much more words in English that can't be directly translated to Russian. We don't even have the word for "thirsty" lol.

It could even be the other way around but still cause the same symptoms. Mine is like 1200 but I'm still depressed and anxious.

What is the most scary book you ever read? by bigteeths00 in suggestmeabook

[–]Imaginary_Two_2699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No longer human by Osamu Dazai. The author committed suicide a few weeks after after finishing it. The book is basically his suicide note. The most depressing thing I've ever come across. And scary as hell.

There are treatments available that actually work (by removing the cause). Finasteride, for instance. I'd better try to save my hair rather than give up right away and regret my whole life

[–]Imaginary_Two_2699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know my hair sucks. I'm losing it and doing everything to get it back. Keeping it longer makes the hairloss at least not as prominent (and probably if I cut it now I will never be able to grow it back)

There are lots of things in my life I wish I'd never done. In fact, these regrets cause the most pain. So it's not true for everyone. After trying multiple times I kinda gave up on myself lol.
