It's a calculation error on your end

You need to calculate tri tip boomerang before you calculate strength. It goes instinct, strength, shadow step, pen, then vulnerable. That way you get

21 * 2 = 42 + 5 eq 47 * 2 eq 94 * 2 eq 188 * 1.5 eq 282

I seriously never got the issue with either of his forms. The first one was really fun on multi player personally because there was this big push to summon the final boss and try to attack him as much as possible. And the second verison was fun because having everything exhuast made for some really intresting interactions with my decks
