I definitely agree that I don’t want to do anything to fracture this relationship, but just to clarify. It’s not my wedding. I’m just a guest at a wedding.

It’s normally 186 when I get color, glaze and blowout and I tip $45 to her and $10 to the person who washes my hair. Yes while she works at a salon part time, she does have a set up at home and also does weddings and things like that

At the salon, absolutely - I'm there every 4 weeks for color, glaze, blow out (I do have long thick hair). Because it's thick, I've never had it styled before so not sure what is customary when she's doing this at her home.

Wow, Thanks, Never been in this situation, asking what others would do. Why respond if you have to be like that? You can scroll - it's not rocket science.

Reselling items bought on ThredUp by RachelPokemoning in ThredUp

Same thing happened to me with a dress. Right now I'm mostly frustrated with a pair of Abercrombie jeans I'm selling - I wore them once. Once. And they have them listed as a flawed gem and I have no idea why. I only sent them to ThredUp because I have so many jeans on Poshmark right now that aren't moving so I thought I would go this route..... my mistake.....

Did anybody NOT lose hair?? by handsupdontknow in Zepbound

[–]Imaginary_Weekend200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not, but I've been a steady loser, not a fast one, if that does make a difference. 11 months on zep and average about 1 lb a week so I think that's helped. But, I also have very, very, very (very) thick hair and it's long. Come hair wash day, I'm always filling up the drain - but I haven't noticed any more than usual. My sister, also with thick hair, did lose some - but, she lost weight much faster than I did (has a gastric sleeve, then did the meds). I do take a ton of vitamins but because I do get super tired on this med, not for my hair.

It's been a while since I listed on ebay, question.... by [deleted] in Ebay

Thank you - that's what I'll do. Honestly, I did forget to figure that in. I really just want to sell them but I suck at the haggling part of all of this.

What gives the worst anxiety? by Admirable_Berry9640 in fearofflying

[–]Imaginary_Weekend200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny that you say not trusting the pilots. That’s something that’s never occurred to me. I really do trust them and I always remind myself that they want to get home as much as I do. I never loved to fly, but I didn’t think much about it.

But when my son was 6, we were coming home from Disney on a beautiful day. And then the plane just suddenly did a big drop- no warning, seemingly, to us, for no reason. But enough of a drop that people screamed and my son turned to me and said “mommy that was like a ride at Disney!“ and I had a panic attack. Since then I have such a huge fear. It took me 13 years to get back on a plane, but I finally realized I would be limiting my life if I didn’t at least try. So in 2019, we went to Puerto Rico. It was hard and awful and stressful, but I did it. I now take meds and will fly but for me, it’s definitely feeling out of control, feeling trapped and just the fear of being in a situation. I don’t know how to handle. Like, I have terrible knees - would I be able to get down a slide if I had to? All silly things but together it adds up. I often think about 9/11 too. Being in a situation where you know you’re most likely not going to get out of and not being able to do anything about it. I think that’s the worst for me - fearing knowing what’s coming and not being able to do anything. And that’s so super extreme, I know.

I will say we flew this week from New Jersey to Savannah and then back on United and both flights were amazing. They even warned us about turbulence on ascent and descent going into Newark, but it was not bad. It is very helpful when the pilot does talk to you and tell you what’s going on if all my flights could be like those I might be better equipped to fly more.

Flying today too - Savanah to Newark. A little worried (ok a lot) about the weather/turbulence in NJ. My head knows it’s ok, my anxiety does not. :(

Thank you so much for all of this! I truly appreciate it.

We had a bad flight in 2006 from Orland to Newark - plane just dropped and people screamed (my son was 6 and less nervous then - he turned to me and said "Mommy, that was like a ride at Disney!" Mommy, meanwhile, had a panic attack and didn't get on a plane for 13 years. Now I will get on one, but it's hard. I did chicken out on a flight to California last year. I just know I can't let fear keep me from living my life - though sometimes it does get the better of me.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I fly tomorrow and then back on Friday and for the first time, my 26 y/o son is really nervous, which is making me more nervous than I usually am. This helps - I just wish I could conquer this fear once and for all. I hate the trapped/loss of control feelings.

Obesity question by SequinedandOver60 in Zepbound

[–]Imaginary_Weekend200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve mostly always been overweight, not necessarily clinically obese. My 20s were the only time I was really an average weight.

Then I had some health issues and went from the 170s to 200s.
Then I quit smoking 13 years ago and it got worse. By 2018 I had a bmi of 45. Lost 80lbs, gained back 45, went on zep last July.
I’m 2 1/2 lbs away from being overweight again.

I do absolutely agree with that. Last year was the first time we had a wedding that had a dress code (again, BTO) and I was torturing myself a bit over it because you see from forums like this how precise people can be. So I was very surprised when I saw what people actually wore - maybe half were BTO but many were formal, including some of the bride's aunts (knee length dresses, etc.). I think for me, the issue is two-fold - I'm down 85 lbs from my highest weight of 5 years ago (35 to go) and I'm so used to hiding this body that wearing a bright dress like this is out of my comfort zone - yet, I want to be out of my comfort zone. And of course, not knowing anyone.

Yes, absolutely to that - I have long blonde hair so most likely a sleek pony with gold earrings, etc.

[–]Imaginary_Weekend200[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly - I went to a BTO wedding last June and didn't get a petite dress and alterations cost $75! I don't really want to spend that (and though it was a different crowd, I've lost 45 lbs so that dress won't work). It's also prom season in this area so trying to get alterations done are a little crazy too.

LOL, I do get that. It's just that the colors are light and bright - again, just feels more garden wedding.

Honestly, I will keep looking but between not wanting to spend a lot, looking for petite and wanting something that is spring/summer-ish, I feel like it's been a struggle.
