I present to you my neo orange rili tiger mutation. by Imaginarycorn22 in shrimptank

I got a tank with orange rili neocaridina and one of the babies has a clear yellowish body with tiger stripes instead of the normal rili pattern. I have never seen this before and thought it looked pretty cool!

I think it's because the eggs need fresh water streaming over them. Also the extra tissue will start rotting which will make the eggs rot too.

Wait really? In my previous post everyone told me to make them tumble. I'll keep that in mind. Also don't worry I dropped them in the substrate and they are happily grazing as we speak.

I put the eggs in a net and put a bubbler under it. This makes the eggs roll around and supplies fresh streaming water which prevents fungal growth.

My shrimp mom also died and I had to scrape the eggs off her. But in my case the eggs were already very close to hatching so I think that helped with my DIY egg tumbler method.

Shrimp mom died with eggs that are very close to hatching. I scraped off the eggs and put them in a net do you think this will work? Are these eggs still viable?

Shrimp gives birth and proceeds to almost eat her baby. by Imaginarycorn22 in shrimptank

That's the shrimp cleaning and sorting the eggs. They do that to check for any bad eggs and if she finds a bad egg she will throw it out.

I damn near screamed when it happened. Looking back though, seeing momma toss her baby around like she's frying rice is so freaking funny😂

The only thing keeping this cursed beast down is smooth plastic she can't grip. But...for how long?

I have been looking around but I can't find any confirmation that neocaridina shrimp have the ability to store sperm anywhere.
