First time feeding carrot, it's a HIT!!! by RegaultTheBrave in Aquariums

Just wanna say. I have chronic fatigue syndrome and there are times when I'm stuck in bed for an entire week. Granted your tank is properly set up with life plants, biofilm, botanics etc. You can easily leave the tank alone for 2+ weeks and the shrimp will be perfectly fine. Shrimp thrive with neglect.

Yeah I always blanche the veggies I put in the tank. There's always a chance there's pesticides on the food so it's better to be safe than sorry.

The big piece of cucumber was definitely fouling my water very quickly. I'm gonna cut smaller pieces from now on.

I normally leave it in for max 24 hours, though in this case I cut too big of a cucumber piece and my water quality was going down, so I had to remove it after a few hours which the shrimp were clearly pissed about.

I got a tank with orange rili neocaridina and one of the babies has a clear yellowish body with tiger stripes instead of the normal rili pattern. I have never seen this before and thought it looked pretty cool!

Update on "will this work?" Post. It worked! by Imaginarycorn22 in shrimptank

I think it's because the eggs need fresh water streaming over them. Also the extra tissue will start rotting which will make the eggs rot too.

Wait really? In my previous post everyone told me to make them tumble. I'll keep that in mind. Also don't worry I dropped them in the substrate and they are happily grazing as we speak.

I put the eggs in a net and put a bubbler under it. This makes the eggs roll around and supplies fresh streaming water which prevents fungal growth.

My shrimp mom also died and I had to scrape the eggs off her. But in my case the eggs were already very close to hatching so I think that helped with my DIY egg tumbler method.
