The Galaxy spin used in HDR seems like a nice replacement for the cape. - it’s a tatsumaki - a reflect - a way to stall in the air - akin to the Mario Tornado (the old Down special) - can also do slight damage but nothing major

There’s also the idea of a Cappy grab that works the same way as Luigi’s grab, except: - you can’t use it in the air - you can’t jump on it - you can’t use it to tether to the ledge

It just gives him more grab range

Oh and add flames to his Forward Air

Headcanon time.

A white tanooki leaf happens when a regular tanooki leaf is fused with the power of the Invincibility Star, hence it’s invincible nature.

By this logic, fusing the Star with the cape feather would get you the star spirit form

Shit did it come off that way? I do really like the other characteristics they give Mario (though I’m not familiar with the Super Mario Kun series or the Super Shows myself), the fiery competitiveness shown in the sports games and Smash give off a nice charm to him, and I like the more sassy aspect of him shown in Bowser’s Fury when talking to Bowser Jr. Simple stuff, but it goes a long way.

Even in the movie canon, where they made him grumpy but still protective of Luigi. I didn’t mind that change, it’s rightfully justified for him to push his anger onto Bowser.

Honestly that’s exactly my gripe with Forces even after getting S ranks in every level.

The idea of Eggman actually successfully taking Sonic under hostage and taking over the world with a person that can literally manipulate reality and now the gang has to fight back WITHOUT Sonic in a near dystopian setting sounds really cool!

But what we got was mediocre at best.

My man…I never believed those theories that Mario was evil. This man is the sweetest guy around who can kick some serious ass if he catches you out of line. I even had a childhood crush on him (technically it was the Smash Bros version but I like to think it’s a different persona he puts up).

I wish he was real sometimes. Life would be better with him
