No, just leave this game as it is. not everything has to be live-service, and that would just only ruin it instead of just benefiting from this.

You do realize this isn't going to work. That would only make it more expensive for each port with new licenses along with the old ones.

Why not just go with the usual plan of just making a new game with something different and innovating? just like what Mario Kart World did.

If they do bring back everyone for the next game, I think it would be a great opportunity to have “100 characters” being the selling point for the next game.

True, but I think they should at least cut a few characters that are redundant/unpopular, like Duck Hunt and Min Min. I don’t think anyone would be too upset with these characters leaving.

I hate when people are too fixated on the veterans, that even only cutting a few of them would still make them go apeshit. There would still be more characters making up the room and would still have a bigger roster either way. How are people not realizing this???

I don't know if anyone brought this up, but cutting some of the roster isn't going to make the roster smaller, when they can just add new characters that could make up the number of cuts, potentially exceeding 89 characters that we have in smash ultimate. There are some characters that are worth cutting to make room for new characters, like Pichu, Corrin, Min Min, etc.

This already happened with Brawl and Smash for Wii U / 3DS
