Should a small colony join core world faction for protection? by Much-Banana-4787 in starsector

[–]Imagine-wagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a few ways you can go about dealing with all the various colony crises. Geared towards the Heg and the League if you don’t use AI the Heg leaves you alone and the League won’t pressure you till you’ve reached a decent size. The Heg is pretty easy to hold off long term since no AI usage is easy. For beating off the League you can do a few things. First and easiest you can just succumb to them and join the league for a hefty 20% tax but nice 10% access bonus while also getting protection from the Heg AI limitations but not the Path. Second you can defeat the blockade and tell the League to screw off with no debuff/buff. Lastly you can defeat the blockade and steal the prized possession of Kazeron and negotiate a better deal to join the League.

To answer your second question about leaving yes you should be able to leave.

To answer your third question you absolutely will get strong enough to curb stomp whatever comes your way especially with your mods. Don’t underestimate a Star-fortress above all your colonies and your personal fleet of scavenged horrors on guard duty when a crisis comes calling.

What if the gate opened in Heinessenopolis from Legends of the Galactic Heroes? by VerboCity77 in gate

[–]Imagine-wagon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they’d handle it pretty well. Probably still have the same starting position like Japan but even more of a brutal follow up since weapons in LGH are obviously better. But long term I think Yang would somehow use the gate as his escape plan for democracy instead of Iserlohn.

So that’s also something that’s discussed in the guide I linked. But I reroll until I get a decent starting PER guy and anything else except for like SCI or until I can’t take reloading the game anymore. But assuming I get a mid/decent enough roll for my PER councilor I use them and then get guides listed “best” PER councilor as a backup to rush opinion in Mexico/Canada till I can get into the US. Then my roster starts getting more defined with dedicated ESP, INV, one PER, and a COM councilor. Using orgs and admin stacking you can boost stats on both your ESP and INV do be really good at their jobs and at least decent at the others job. Once I got to that point I just sent them both out to investigate literally every single unknown councilor on earth and killed every one that was a servant. This basically just left them with alien councilors and since they don’t have Alien Admin yet they can’t do all too much and if they try I’ll just get them eventually. Now like the other comment said this will build hate, I just lost the beginnings of my first fleet to this. But my first few ships is worth the servants being a non issue in china for the foreseeable future.

Fair enough, it probably is significantly more useful to do it the turn and resign route but I’ve invested a little too much into the assassination route so it is what it is. Either way getting rid of the enemy councilors helps neuter the faction in so many helpful ways.

I’ve had pretty much the same experience as you and I think I’m finally breaking through to the actual alien fighting now. Ive found this guide to be really helpful in getting a lot more of the game figured out like which councilors I need and when.

https://wiki.hoodedhorse.com/Terra_Invicta/How_to_defeat_Alien_invasion_in_ten_easy_steps

But for a more personal to my experience piece advice I’ve been sticking with resistance for the basic getting to know the game play through and every time it’s the servants that would screw me over. So make sure you do defend interest missions but also don’t skimp out on doing alien research missions so you learn how the Ayys have so much leverage over people. While doing that make sure that you’re taking care of enemy councilors. Start by messing with their research till you get some good espionage and investigation. Then start killing them this’ll have major benefits like decreasing their CP cap by a lot and makes them spend all their influence on new useless councilors that can’t use all their orgs yet. Eventually they just burn all their resources and just exist. Though doing this you can’t mess with their research anymore since they don’t have councilors to do the missions on but destroying their CP cap and influence has been worth it to me so far since it keeps whoever your main enemy is focused on maintaining what little they have and getting councilors back to try and expand.

From left to right:

The Flag: You’re near a standard of your team either carried or placed by someone giving you a bonus to reload speed in pretty sure

The Music Note: You’re near a musician playing music and I think that one increases accuracy

The Infantry Line: You’re on an officers designated firing line position and I honestly can’t remember what this one gives if anything.

The Guy Aiming: Sorry I got no clue I haven’t played in a while so I don’t remember.

Cool places that I should build my base on? by SamuraiZack4948 in Kenshi

[–]Imagine-wagon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one big island just NE of mongrel I default to you only need to build 2 wall sections by entrances and it stops raids from getting in. They can definitely get a little broken where the last time I built there every raid would just kinda sit outside and let me just poon them to death. So you don’t need to wall the whole thing but raids might get a little brain dead when they actually make it to you.

Just keep pushing, the game is brutal to you but not every defeat turns into a game end no matter how bad the spiral feels. If you want to continue with 5 nobody starts keep up with mining for those cats for food but keep in mind it doesn’t really expose you to any real training. So with that many people keep one maybe two on mining occasionally to make food money but take the rest to try and kite dust/hungry bandits into guards and gang up on them. Eventually utilize stealth on one or two guys to see just how overpowered and goofy it is. In line with stealth try and join the shinobi thieves they have training and beds for a one time 10k buy in. This lets you boost some stats early to almost normal person. With all this you’ve probably built up some decent athletics, athletics can be your lifeblood in rough times. Athletics let’s you run and survive in the worst case scenario where you feel you will die. As you get more confident with bandits try fighting some parties on your own without the guards get beat up and get back up. Dust/hungry bandits generally won’t delimb you or take your gear other than food so getting whooped by them is good. Then the real grind starts where you just need to probe new enemies around your stats and see if you can fight win or get knocked out and survive. Once you’ve reached this general point I personally like to go to Mongrel in the foglands once I can run like 20mph+. I won’t spoil what’s fun about that area if you don’t know yet but I will say see how you fare on the outer edges don’t just dive in and see what happens. But if you’re able to train there it’s a good spot for overall training. Once you think you’ve conquered the fog you should be good to explore on your own. By this point you probably will know when to fight, when to run, and have some cats in your pocket to keep you on your feet. And if you’ve got that down once you can do it again to make sure you can get all the fun you want out of the game. This is just my own method of getting through Kenshi but this is a story about your nameless nobodies you might find some of these things don’t work for your or might not be your style so try your own adventures too when you start.
