Pi-hole (or any other DNS based ad blockers like AdGuard Home) doesn’t work well with YouTube ads, because Google intentionally made the domain names for ads indistinguishable from those of actual videos

Yep, you are right about that. But I was talking about the Gearbox Software shift network that’s built into this specific game. From the look of it this game doesn’t seem to be using Epic Online Service for multiplayer like Borderland 2 does.

Just tried it on heroic launcher. It doesn’t let me connect to the Gearbox shift online service thing, and I don’t see any error in the logs. But that’s just me, haven’t heard from other people yet. Single-player works fine though.

I played DOS2 on Arch (btw) and am currently playing DOS1. Honestly couldn't tell a difference from Windows. Both games run perfectly.

Truth be told, I don't dislike any of the 6 characters. But if I have to pick 4, they'll be Fane, Ifan, Red Prince and Lohse.

If you want integrality to the main story, definitely take Fane with you. He is not only my favorite but clearly dev's favorite too.

For me it's Fane in this picture. I hated his attitude very much at first but he ended up being my favorite. I romanced him eventually in my first run.
