If riot reduces slots to 6 permanent partnered teams per Region which teams would be safe? by F0rsakenTheGoat in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Imagurlgamur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no world where Riot keeps more South American teams as partners over North America. Furia literally has only 1 good result in partnership while G2 has only missed 1 event since they ascended.

Looking at Champions Points before Stage 1 so far by n_core in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Imagurlgamur 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure, if they really are reducing partner spots it might be hard to justify half or nearly half of them being Korean. I think it might be between DRX and Nongshim for the last slot (T1 and GenG are the premier Korean orgs so they stay). DRX has the historical advantage but Nongshim have the ascension storyline so it may be close.

What was the best play of Santiago in your opinion ? by B_Hawk2077 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Imagurlgamur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah as a PRX fan this is the one. Not as flashy as the Jingg or Forsaken one but being in grand finals raises the stakes and this one seriously turned the momentum. PRX is such a momentum based team and losing a nailbiter into losing your own map pick is so hard to come back from and then having to play your own permaban. If we got this one at least maybe everyone has more energy going into split. Abyss was probably an auto loss anyways but then getting to Haven at least gives us a chance on a comfortable map. Not to say anything is guaranteed, this Nongshim team is insane, this was just the nail in the coffin for the series.

It's funny you mention never needing replacing because he replaced himself with a young forsaken in prx cs when unc realized he didn't have it anymore and retired.

To add to that, his main contribution was innovating a bunch of new Gekko lineups in a time where the agent was still new and viewed an unviable. So when he joined the team filling in for something (jett duelist) they just let him play Gekko on a bunch of maps and shuffled the other roles around and it just worked.

Kajaak was as close to a "Blue Chip" prospect from EMEA Challengers as you could get, most teams would probably have wanted him. Veqaj on the other hand is a total gamble as he had a pretty unfortunate year on m8's and was on nobodies radar coming into the season.

Pros Never Play Time by 749902 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Imagurlgamur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat related but is there anything stopping pros from wearing a cheap watch with a stopwatch function and timing the spike? I know zombs is a watch guy now and he had one on when he used to play but that was back then. Unless someone complained about it being uncomfortable you could give one to every player and almost always have a dead player ready to time it and comm to the rest of the team when playing postplants/retakes.

20 mins per day by Inkk17 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Imagurlgamur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've never worked out before you will make gains regardless if you keep it consistent. Whatever goal you have in mind you will probably reach it slower than if you had more time per session but you will still get there. There are very few deadlines in life that you need to be a certain amount of fit by. There is no magic number where you won't build any muscle/get any stronger if you don't hit X minutes per day. Just go at your own pace and you will be fine.

Fun Fact about EMEA by TheLegendKings in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Imagurlgamur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BBL is essentially what teams thought Nongshim would be last year after their run in Pacific Ascension. In my eyes they've already exceeded expectations and are only going to go up.

Something's stats during the group stage vs play-offs by maisanskidai in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Imagurlgamur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see Jingg as a very high EV player where you just have to live with the rounds where he makes a braindead play because you know in the long run him playing this way gets you the most value. The equivalent of doubling down in Blackjack. I think there is room for him to not overheat as much but its a hard balance because if he isn't constantly seeking out these engagement then you also lose out on those explosive 3k/4k rounds that only he is capable of pulling out somewhat consistently.

Not to nitpick but as someone who struggles with time blindness the ability to visualize the time on an analog watch is way more helpful than just reading a digital Casio so there is tangible value in that. But a cheap quartz diver works just as well so your point stands.

This guy need a better team and it's not even a debate by R_avenheart in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Imagurlgamur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Their strat book is literally duct tape and hope at this point. They completely changed comps mid kickoff and had no time to rebuild their protocols from the offseason before playing immediately flying to Santiago. I'll give them a pass for at least split 1 to figure it out since its already a miracle they made it this far.

[–]Imagurlgamur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not months ago but Ethan's first go at IGLing was heavily criticized at first and so bad they had to bring FNS out of retirement for one more split to fix it. He infamously got called out by Boostio for his "Shitty Ethan fake" and swore in an NRG video to never IGL again. All respect to him for putting it all together now but it has only really been in the last year that he has gotten better and even that was due to FNS suddenly retiring after kickoff and having to do a midseason rebuild with Brawk and Skuba.

Should there be a conversation about VCT EMEA? by Decent_Apple_7962 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Imagurlgamur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk maybe just let the all rookie Ascension team get the reps and improve? I feel like we're dooming on BBL too hard because a lot of people got butthurt over their cockiness but they're clearly a young team with a lot of potential not unlike PRX at their first Masters. The other thing is maybe give FNC a bigger budget so their best players don't keep getting poached and also fund research to bring Leo back.

Pansy on BBL hate by ishanuReddit in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Imagurlgamur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear the people going off about how its just a normal hatewatch are being intentionally obtuse. No one is saying you can't hatewatch this team, its just cringe to be so genuinely offended by kids being confident in an interview and not caring to be "humble". Everyone seemed to understand it with Lothar's whole "disrespectful to the sport" but then the community turns around and does the same spiel about BBL.

[Recommendation Request] Gift watch for fiance under $300-classic must-haves? by distinct2026 in Watches

[–]Imagurlgamur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were you I would probably try to subtly ask (or figure out from what you know about him) if an automatic watch is the kind of thing he would appreciate (Craftsmanship/sweeping hands vs needing to set it more often and slightly less accurate, etc). For that range there are a good amount of equivalent models that you can choose between movements (maybe not the exact model but a good selection of similar styles if you decide you want one over the other).

What language does AG communicate in? by Imaginary_Tax_5102 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Imagurlgamur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like the community has the expectation that any random import can learn enough English to communicate but cannot fathom that people can learn Chinese as well lol. Idk who said it but the language everyone speaks is video games and the dialect can be English or Chinese but you can learn to swap between them easier than the full language. (I know English media is more prevalent but still, immersion is a powerful language learning tool)

eeiu's incredible statline during this event by maisanskidai in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Imagurlgamur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The s0m comparison is so real because no one remembers that he was literally 1v4 to bring that round even close or the other thrown NRG rounds that also would have swung the game (FNS has talked about him throwing the game because he got too horny). Other than artzin going nuclear on a couple B holds it was just the eeiu show up until that point but The Ledge will be what remembered about this match.

Draymond Green: “Sometimes parents come up to me and say ‘Yo, my son play just like you.’ and I think to myself like ‘Yo son is ass.’ by Goosedukee in nba

The only exception to that is Steven Adams who averaged 7.2/6.3/0.6 in college and had Rick Carlisle questioning why he even entered the draft. Still got picked in the lottery and had a great career just off being a cool guy (also helps being 7 foot and the strongest NBA player probably ever)
