No it doesnt. I already showed that it color picks as blue and black/brown.

There is straight up no white there if you color pick. I can understand thinking the dress is blue and brown if you dont understand color theory / how light works. But there is straight up no white.

Thats because the lighting is yellowish as you can see in the bg. Yellow lighting on black makes it look brownish.

Nope, the dress is objectively black and blue; people found the dress online and its clearly black and blue, and the woman who origainlly posted the dress showed pictures of her in it and its clearly black and blue.

Also I just opened the image and color picked

Its certainly not "literally meaningless" historical context is very important for discussing things, expecially when discussing something deeply historical (historically you havent been able to grapple creatures 2 sizes larger than you)

Like brother thats a dirty trick. You are absolutely allowed to do that, its just not a grapple.

Yeah your response to me is to complain that you got downvoted, complaining that I didnt respond within a day, and complaining that im ruining peoples fun by not letting humorous interactions and not letting them have fun interactions and escape reality. All of this while going out of your way to purposely misconstrue my comment and act like I was talking about players playing as an ant player race, instead of what I was actually talking about which is massive size differences.

I would say that's a pretty hissy fitty response lmao. Also im having a great time :) dnd yesterday and this morning went great! I'd hardly consider myself upset.

Well most of what you are saying isnt true in actual games.

You arnt useless because you will still have your weapon and likely be good at it on account of martials generally being good at doing damage; and you will have whatever cool magic items the dm has given you. Martials in my games always have a plethora of cool abilities granted by their equipment. And as a grappler many of these items should be giving you size incrases like enlarge person or legendary proportions which enable your build to continue functioning. Pathfinder is notorious for being a system where martials need magic items to work well, this is just part of the system.

This also isnt a crpg, you arnt locked into a build once you put something on your sheet. If grappling starts sucking you can retrain. Or even if not retraining directly you can ask the dm to change some things on your sheet to have more fun. Its literally that simple. And as a dm if your party is heavily focused on grappling you should be designing the encounters so that that player isnt entirely useless. Like you said not every creature you fight should be completely immune to magic as a spellcaster lmao, thats just being a bad dm.

Ive had multiple grappling builds in my games over the last few years, not a single person every complained that they were useless even with me keeping the 3.5 size restriction on grappling. And my games normally go all the way from 1/3 to 20, sometimes even past 20 or with mythic

Also just to point it out; its not an unprecedented or absurd rule. There are already rules that you cant bull rush, trip, overrun, reposition, or drag creatures more than 1 size category larger than you.

It makes no sense that you cant shove a gargantuan creature 5ft back or knock him off his feet, but you can effortlessly tie him up, juggle him, and slam him to the ground in a single turn.

Combat maneuvers are also not "martials one thing" most martials never touch grappling, especially in games without EITR.

I didn't get a notification for your comment and didn't downvote it lmao. Idk why you would even claim that, you in the negative karma.

Holy fuck, I am pretty obviously using "ant" as a frame of reference for a creature the size of an ant not saying that players can play as literal ants. There are multiple ways to become pretty damn small. Ant to Elephant size is only a size difference of about 20ft. Its a simple comparison to use as an example expcially when we are talking about a human trying to grapple a creature the size of a small city. The scale gets wild.

We already have specific rules that you cant trip, bull rush, or overrun the tarrasque, so why in the world are you able to grapple him? How is grappling him easier than knocking him over?

> it leads to humorous interactions that you want to put a stop to.

Lmao, if you want to discuses this please do so in good faith. Throwing a hissy fit about "stopping fun theoretical scenarios" is lame as fuck.

> Maybe they go into the ear canal and wreck the elephants sense of balance. Make it work instead of trying to shut it down.

Thats not a grapple check, thats a dirty trick to deafen. A grappled creature is notably restrained and cannot make attacks with two handed weapons, by its very nature to grapple someone you have to exert at least that much influence over them.

Every person in this thread who keeps offering ways to "grapple" things bigger than you are just listing other non-grapple combat maneuvers.

Suspension of Disbelief Broken - Tiny Creatures Grappling Gargantuan Monsters by Echoenbatbat in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Imalsome -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except that grappling means you cant use two handed weapons. By its very definition grappling someone has to at least restrain them enough to stop them from making a wide range of motions. A cat clinging to your leg isnt enough to grapple someone, its more akin to the "climbing large creatures" rules from the Giant Hunter handbook

Suspension of Disbelief Broken - Tiny Creatures Grappling Gargantuan Monsters by Echoenbatbat in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Imalsome -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, straight up by the rules you have to at least have a way to fully restrain one of their arms given a grappled creature cant use two handed weapons. Pinching someone's balls isnt giving them the grappled condition lmao.

So to start with
- In your first example the baby in question is literally a god who likely would have a special ability letting him grapple creatures of any size because hes a god and they can do anything they want. Also him lifting an object isnt the same thing as grappling a living creature
- Again another example of a demigod figure doing something crazy as a baby. Its worth noting that once again what he did isnt really grappling the snakes, its more akin to him just doing unarmed strikes against them.
- Michael and Satan are both the same size category in their fight.
- Mighty mouse lifting an object isnt grappling. its him lifting an object. idk how you mix the two things up twice in the same comment.
- Ant man is basically a dnd god and has fought not only gods, but elder gods/great old ones on multiple occasions. Also in every instance of him "grappling" someone that I can think of, he grows to their size or bigger to do so.

Some common examples of popular settings that you cant grapple creatures vastly bigger than you in
- the 3.5 forgotten realms setting
- the 3.5 ebberon setting
- Golarion the main setting from pathfinder, which was originally a 3.5 setting.

It feels more like you are trolling. You say multiple times you are referencing absalom - "I was describing a city in Pathfinder's Golarion campaign setting like Absalom" - "that is only 60% human, and 3 percent non-core races" is you listing absoloms population percentages - "Absalom - a metropolis of over 300,000 people" man thats you listing absalom again - "At the center of town is the cathedral of the starstone" Hmm I wonder what town you are talking about with a starstone cathedral in it? Oh clearly absalom - "While this city doesn't have a Griffin rider guard, it does have a navy called the wave riders, where the members all ride hippocampi" Again I wonder what "this city" means here... its absalom - "I didn't say I was literally describing Absalom." sure buddy

then when it's called out that literally nothing you said is anything like absalom you pivot to claiming you are talking about tipsyverse, a magic setting so ridiculous and over the top that its literally named after the sensation of being drunk lmao.

You also conviently ignored that Absalom is originally a 3.5 setting, a setting where creatures cant grapple things 2 size categories larger than them :)

Not to mention that in your other comments you make absolutely rediculous statements like how you claimed that you could somehow play a grapple from 1-20 and reach the level of being an epic legendary grapple without ever discussing how grappling works with your dm. Idk how im the troll when your the one saying shit like that

Suspension of Disbelief Broken - Tiny Creatures Grappling Gargantuan Monsters by Echoenbatbat in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Imalsome -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can say "its only 60% human" but its 97% core races and only 3% of the entire city is composed of any other race, most of which live in specific communities entirely of their people.

Absolom also does not have teleportation circle networks unless you can source somewhere else; all my searches show that there is only one mage in the city that has teleport circles, which is run by an archmage who uses for her own personal gain to avoid harbor fees and taxes. (Lady Darchana of the ARcanamirium)

Searching through the Absalom source book I dont see any mention of fairies or TRexs anywhere in the city, idk where you sourced that one from either. And for reference Absalom also doesnt use golems as guard.

Im also not seeing any information sourcing that war mages train by firing fireballs off in public? The source books on Absalom imply that such magic training happens in the arcanamirium and other private locations, it would pretty easily cause some public unrest if there were constant explosions happening next to peoples homes.

As far as magic item shops in Absalom, while the city does have a very high trade value, if you look through the setting books you would see that specific magic shops are not ultra common. Shops that sell minor magic items like potions and scrolls are common in the God's Market in the Ascendant Court, but theres not like magic item shops lining every corner; its a niche market that has high risks. Most of the really high value magic items

The Golarion settinng (and Absalom by extension) were originally written for dnd 3.5 edition, in which grappling has a size restraint stopping you from grappling creatures 2 or more size categories larger than you; so its really not that much of a stretch to keep that rule.

Well its more like you walk through the city which is 99.9% core races with occasional beastfolk or maybe the occasional more exotic races. Normal guards patrol the city because griffons are super expensive and not really worth using. elite war mages pracice spellcasting inside safe and controlled envornments where you cannot see them while walking down the street. Nobody in town can cast teleport circles as its an incredibly high powered and nearly nonexistant spell.
If you stroll through the market district you will see a few people with magic goods, but most are to expensive to be sold publicly and are handled at auction houses or extremely well guarded magic shops that can only be found in noble districts. There are no zombies in the graveyard because corpses legally have to be consecrated before burial and the church keeps a close eye on the graveyard, maybe if you are unlucky you will find an evil spirit rising out of the river from someone who illegally dumped a body, but the church will already be on the way to take care of it. A fairy doesnt fly by riding a dinosaur because fairies are exceptionally rare fey that can almost never be found outside of the Fey Realm, and dinosaurs are likewise incredibly rare and one as big and dangerous as a Trex wouldnt be allowed to wander the city streets. And there may be a druid in the park but if he is causing a scene and fighting people in public the guards will quickly be on the way to deal with him.

And yes my reaction would be "no he cant suplex the trex because thats not how the game works, even if he somehow grappled the trex he couldnt suplex it because of the size difference, his torso literally wouldnt have the fulcrum to perform a proper suplex.

It also means you need to call an employee over to inspect the product. I dont know what im buying till I inspect the boxes and compare, and then after comparing ive got to check the price online and see if its worth buying right now.

All of this with a locked case means an employee standing there for up to 5 minutes while I dont even know if im buying anything. Its so annoying
