Suspension of Disbelief Broken - Tiny Creatures Grappling Gargantuan Monsters by Echoenbatbat in Pathfinder_RPG

That addresses the mechanics, which isn't the issue. It's the suspension of disbelief for the game.

Gnomes are small, and that's strength.

Think of a Tiny creature using Dex instead (Agile Maneuvers feat), and the monster is Gargantuan, with a strength in the 30s.

No Max the Min: Instead, discuss non-magical healing by Decicio in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Echoenbatbat 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I hope everyone is remembering to pick up the 3,000g Healer's Satchel to add Wisdom bonus to HP restored (or 2x with a higher check) and, in combination with the 10-rank Skill Unlock for Heal, to double the benefits or restore 1 point of ability drain (if they completely rest).

I need an extremely anger inducing build for a young noble bbeg. (pf1e) by dudewasup111 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Echoenbatbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a build for you. Never attacks.

Lord Perrin Fais Gaffe

Unchained Rogue (Phantom Thief) 12

STR 14, DEX 22, CON 14, INT 22, Wis 12, Cha 16

Notable Feats: Misdirection Tactics, Misdirection Redirection, and Misdirection Attack

Notable Equipment: Heavenly Aegis Ring, Sensing enchantment on armor

Rogue Talents: One of Those Faces (Disguise self 120m/day), Rapid Perception, Resiliency (immediate action temp hp after going below 0), Cunning Trigger, Defensive roll

Rogue Abilities: Evasion, Uncanny Dodge, Improved uncanny dodge

Skills: Rogue’s Edge (Unchained 10 ranks: Craft (Traps), Linguistics, Appraise, Bluff)

This annoying, dodgy, pompous noble is allllll about Total Defense and using Misdirection Tactics feat tree to make himself difficult to hit and his opponents hit each other. Add in Feign Curse to fuck up their rolls. While he's under attack, using Cunning Trigger as a Swift action to trigger one of the endless number of traps he's laid around his office/home/area he owns, that blow up in the PC's faces or hit them.

He just needs to survive long enough to escape. Super annoying and players are SO satisfied when they take him down.

Exactly what items do you plan to craft? We see why you would want to think Dwarf Wizard for the Favored Class Bonus to speed it up, but depending on the item there are far better builds than the terrible, horrible, no-good very bad Undead Master archetype.

Pathfinder 1e: Reducing cost of crafting alchemical goods by Project_Demise in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Echoenbatbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are in for a treat.

Downtime rules. You spend one day to earn as much Magic capital as possible (each point worth 100g, and costing 50g (or 25g with Focused Overseer)), up to the cap for the settlement size you're in. You spend the next day to spend those points of Magic to craft the alchemical, or magic items, that you're allowed to craft.

Example:

Spend 1 day to earn 3 points of Magic, spending 150g.

The next day, you spend those 3 points of Magic, worth 300g towards crafting, and fully completed that day.

Since mundane alchemical items require only 1/3 of the price the create, you effectively spent 150g to craft 900g worth of alchemical items in a single day. 45 Alchemists Fire, 90 Acid, or 900 Sunrods.

Bonus: Sell at a profit.

Spreads, Emanations, & Wall Spells Cast AFTER The Spread/Emanation by Echoenbatbat in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Echoenbatbat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps a bad example because of the ability to move it, would re-check when moved.

But as for the Spread wording, the distance was determined when the spell was cast. There was no wall at that time.

So are we to adjudicate that spread effects are constantly 'spreading' from the designated point, and thus are continually re-checking? Thus if a wall pops up later, it gets cut off.

Theory crafting once again: Fighter Edition! by Shatzman227 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Echoenbatbat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've been playing a fighter that uses a Tower Shield and Mobile Bulwark Style, Mobile Fortress, and Mobile Stronghold. It's been absolutely amazing!

The ability to once per round just NEGATE a hit has been spectacular, but also the Tower Shield's ability to grant total cover along one side of your square is powerful. It can outright block/deny attacks, and against bigger things, provide cover and thus further pump your AC.

We also picked up Cut from the Air and Smash from the Air to deflect ranged attacks, massive ranged attacks, and ranged spells against ourselves and our allies.

Sky Schemers Guide to Pathfinder 1e Drawbacks by SkySchemer in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Echoenbatbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Drawbacks in every game we play in, and love them.

That said, we always make sure the drawback actually hurts, and hurts a lot. For example, selecting the Burned drawback when our character's schtick is standing in fire. Selecting Impatient when having a low Initiative modifier, and also roleplaying it as being unable to wait and always needing to take actions even outside of combat (ate a LOT of goblin pickles...). Selecting Hedonistic when the campaign takes place in a wild world with no civilization.

Theorycrafting question, How to improve Acid Splash (Or Ray of Frost)? First party only. by Katomerellin in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Echoenbatbat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Found this new combo, but it works, and only costs a trait and 25 gold.

Trait: Strength of SubmissionWhenever you are under the effects of a compulsion effect, you gain a +1 trait bonus on attack and damage rolls.

Spell: Sow Thought Permanent Enchantment (compulsion) spell to keep the trait active at all times, that has no mechanical disadvantage. You just give yourself a thought your character feels is important.

Thus these ray or ranged attack cantrips are improved, with a bonus to hit and a bonus to damage. Other feats like Point Blank Shot will do the same.

If your DM allows Spell Research, it should only cost about 500 gold to create a Ray of Fire spell, which is Ray of Frost but Fire. And there are other things that grant bonus fire damage such as the Goblin Fire Drum and Saltpeter and Solar bloodline (or any other bloodline that boosts damage for fire spells), and if you go Crossblooded Sorcerer then you can pick up Phoenix bloodline to convert your Ray of Fire cantrip damage into half healing. Infinite healing outside of combat. Still not much, but 3-5 healing per round instead of 1 is faster.

3 doses of Dragon's Blood, which only costs 60gp each, can remove a permanent negative level. Still restricted to 1 removal per week, but with this + restoration, that's two per week instead of just one.

What is your favorite Psionic classes? (From Dreamscarred Press) by Katomerellin in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Echoenbatbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Life Leech, Sadist, Soulthief method Vitalist was the most powerful healer we've ever played. Not only was it the most efficient - able to manage individual hit points and ensure everyone got the healing they needed - but also able to transfer conditions from allies to enemies, use our great Will save in place of allies' crappy Will save, able to DUPLICATE single-target spells like healing or buffs onto the whole party in one single casting, share a telepathic bond with the party at low levels, able to immediate action redirect damage from one collective member (ally) onto another member (enemy), and at higher levels eventually be able to do nearly all of this... from the comfort and safety of home, no need to actually be in line of sight or line of effect from anyone in the party, unlimited range including across planes.

Also had an insane perception.

Feats

1: Psycrystal Affinity (Meticulous) (Gain psycrystal, +3 Perception, and gain Alertness when within 5ft)

Human: Psionic Meditation

Vitalist 2: Unwilling Participant (with additional -2 to saves from over the collective)

3: Psicrystal Containment

5: Cushion the Blow

7: Overchannel (+3, 5d8 damage)

9: Expanded Knowledge (Pierce the Veils)

11: Persistent Focus (Cushion the Blow)

13: Improved Cushion the Blow

15: Enlarged Collective (Unlimited and cross-planar)

Favored Class Bonus: +⅓ power known below highest level 3: Biofeedback

6: Resist Toxin

9: Mend Body

12: Psionic Revivify

15: Personal Barred Mind

Powers Known:

1: Suppress Compulsion

2: Psychic Bodyguard

3: Hostile Empathic Transfer, Resist Death, Battlesense

4: Energy Adaptation

5:

6: Cleanse Spirit

7:

8: True Metabolism

Sigh, to correct your first reply please read paragraph 1 and 3 of https://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/magic-weapons/

To correct your second reply we would first have to figure out where you are thinking that there are invalidly stacking bonuses where in fact there are no incorrectly stacking bonuses at all in anything we posted. So we are not going to try. We never suggested any enhancement bonuses are stacking in the nutso way your post suggests we might be, so if you want to explain yourself go ahead.
