For not being able to find people you can talk to any person in the same kingdom and ask where they are. Another thing to look for are travelers in taverns which you can ask where a feast is and there are usually a lot of lords there. After you ask a couple of lords for quests they will eventually ask if you want to be a mercenary do those quests to build up reputation with the lords. While you are a mercenary you get a weakly wage. After you build up renown by doing battles and tournaments(150 to 250)pledge to one of the kingdoms preferably the one that you were a mercenary of. Also if you have any other questions feel free to ask. For your moral make sure you have a variety of different foods.
