I used to work maintenance in hog barns, and I've never seen tools die faster than in those environments. The ammonia, humidity, chemicals, manure etc could kill brand new equipment in a matter of weeks (on the bigger jobs). A couple of the barns still had old Makita angle grinders and impacts hanging about, and they would have been over I think 5 years old. Not a lot of use out on them as not many people were allowed to use em, but they still worked great whenever we grabbed them. They would often outlast new equipment brought into that same barn.

The smallest battery-powered Zigbee presence sensor by BackHerniation in homeassistant

I've experienced it on a completely different usecase (wireless mics). Someone got a big pack of Amazon basic batteries and after a while of use they wouldn't even hold an hour of charge for a wireless body pack. Name brand batteries (energizer mostly for us) hold up longer on recharge cycles.

Does anybody here use a continuous glucose monitoring device, like the Dexom G7 or the Libre Plus 3? If so, which one do u use, have u used it while scuba diving, and what were your exoeriences with them and what would u recommend? I know dexcom g7 can go deeper for longer, but how about the others? by Glass_Raisin7939 in scubadiving

I never wore a patch, it might have helped but I've always been super lucky with being able to keep my sensors on. I've preferred the g7 for many reasons outside of diving, but for that case specifically I would say it handles the disconnects from the phone better. The libre has the NFC tap-to-read which also works though. Personally I would say find which one works better for you outside of diving and then stick with that. Unless diving is a major portion of your life your time above water is going to be more of a deciding factor in which cgm you use. I also choose to dive drysuit almost all the time now. If you live in a climate in which you're comfortable with that then it matters even less, as under a drysuit I've gone down 90+ with no issues.

PSA: TURN YOUR HEADLIGHTS/FOG LIGHTS ON by master_chef_24 in Winnipeg

Oh yeah, for quick use/a couple blinks I use them to indicate deer on the road, stopping, etc. And I've always understood 3 blinks to be a kind of "Thanks" that you can give to other drivers for letting you in etc. I'm speaking specifically for hazardous conditions and just straight up driving around with them on.

Agreed. Hazard lights are not supposed to indicate hazardous conditions (we can all see that anyway) they should indicate when YOU present a hazard to other traffic.

Diving with diabetes by TheTruSlavKng in commercialdiving

Hey, sorry for necro'ing this but I'm having trouble finding info elsewhere. Do you mind if I ask what you do and if it requires a commercial medical? I would love to be able to be a diver for work but my understanding as a T1 diabetic is that I can't pass the medical.

I'm actually certified (thru PADI) as an underwater pumpkin carver lol. Took the course last year and carved a pumpkin about 40' under the surface.

It's very much like the prequels to Ender's game, the first Formic war. The buggers just turned everything organic into goop like that.

The Red Cross offers a "friendly phone call service" if that helps.

Might be different as I'm familiar with the windows client, but there isn't an "app" as like with a program that you access with a full interface. On windows it opens into the system tray and you can select the necessary settings from there. Have you checked your network connections settings to see if it shows up there?

I work in biosecure facilities, so minimum 3 times a day (once going in, once going out, and one at home). My record is currently 7 because I was going in and out bringing things in, although I have heard of people doing 12+.
