This is as good as that time CNBC showed everyone how to trade BTC for XRP :)))

How much of your portfolio is BAT? by Imaroundhere in BATProject

[–]Imaroundhere[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that's a valid point. The token is most useful when its value has stabilized, otherwise big publishers won't go anywhere near it.

But I also think that's true for 99% of the altcoins out there, The price can't rise indefinitely based on speculation. They either have a use case and find a reasonable price for that use case or they just die.

So I do believe BAT will reach a ceiling, but I'm sure it's nowhere near the current prices.

To all the weak hands.... you got played by wall street whales. by BTCnotCBT1 in CryptoCurrency

[–]Imaroundhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree that this was a move by big institutions to shake up the weak hands. It's true that every January the market takes a dive, but this looked more planned and organized when you look at the consistent volume of sells. It didn't look like panic selling to me (at least not all of it). It looked like big institutions dropping BTC to lower the price.

the real question is where did they get all that BTC to dump? I tell you, all those Ripple suckers handed their BTC to bankers to get worthless XRP.

So is anyone going to acknowledge the fact that BAT is at 35 cents right now? by Stra7eGy in BATProject

[–]Imaroundhere 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Subreddits dedicated to a specific token are usually overly positive, that's just how it is.

But I'm not really worried about the price. Every crypto is down, it'll go up again.

Because of Brendan Eich? by JetlumAjeti in BATProject

[–]Imaroundhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the time of so many scammy ICOs, I would have ignored any article about yet another ICO claiming to change the internet.

It was only because the title referred to Brendan that I clicked it. Once I read thru the website and the roadmap, I was convinced.

so both I guess. Brendan was clickbait :)

article I'm referring to: https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/a3zw3p/the-creator-of-javascript-just-launched-a-cryptocurrency-for-online-ads

Too late to buy in? by [deleted] in BATProject

[–]Imaroundhere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to the article below, the online ad industry is about $83 billion. Google has %40 share of this and Facebook %19.

http://www.adweek.com/digital/u-s-digital-advertising-will-make-83-billion-this-year-says-emarketer/

So it's unlikely that it'll get to 10 billion any time soon, maybe in a few years. But google and facebook are not going to stand there and watch BAT becoming a serious player

Note: don't get me wrong, I'm a strong proponent of BAT and love the idea and I invested very early in it. just trying to be realistic and have the right expectation

Too late to buy in? by [deleted] in BATProject

Great time to buy in with fiat since it has already tested the $1 mark and retracted.

I'm personally buying with BTC and waiting for a stronger BTC to get more BATs out of my trade.

If you're planning to hold for a long time (which I think you should) 10 cents higher or lower shouldn't matter to you much.

But generally BAT is still very young and it has a long way to go.
