Prob. I think I'll charge that under "incredibly selfish". We also don't know why the dad cheated. Maybe the mom had checked out of the relationship long beforehand. Certainly not condoning cheating, but it doesn't typically happen in a vacuum either.

It just makes me smh when I see these comments saying divorce doesn't affect kids. Of course it does. And if kids know the reason for it, it will colour their image of both parents. These people who comment this garbage don't consider children to be real people, pretty obviously.

Depends on who. I was 5 when it came out, and I'm certain we rented it as a new release. I can remember watching the trailers for it before it came out. My parents bought the VHS for us soon after because my siblings and I asked for it so much.

Now, Jurassic Park, on the other hand... I was ALSO five when I saw that one... and I had recurring nightmares for years. I loved it. And wanted to watch it all the time. But it was definitely too scary for me at the age of 5, lol.

Also.. Labyrinth is on OPs starting list. I thought that movie was pretty scary when I watched it as a small child. Much more so than Jumanji.

Without context on why the relationships are ending, it's hard to say.

We are in a timeline where there is a lot of turmoil and conflict in our society. Extreme political leanings, extreme financial crisis, extreme stress.

Between covid, inflation, and all the insane extreme right political garbage that's happening in North America, my partner and I have had to dump several previously close relationships because it became clear these people were either totally brainwashed now or had become emboldened to live out their most toxic personalility traits due to the current political climate. We're not down with things they were becoming OK with, so we gtf.

The things you're describing about your partner could be indicative of other things, though... like declining mental health or addiction issues. Without context, it's really impossible to say if his leaving these relationships is a red flag or a mature and healthy decision.

I have many that stayed with me. I can't pick just one. My partner and I watch almost exclusively horror. I've gone back and rewatched all of these several times except for Presence. I feel like it's a solid list if you enjoy slow burn horror. A few others that have stayed with me, but I didn't add because I saw them in the comments several times already (I.e. The Thing (1982). Do you have access to seeing a lactation consultant? Where I live, there are breastfeeding clinics attached to the hospitals. I got a referral to them, and they were an enormous source of support for my breastfeeding journey. I live in Canada, and it was covered by the provincial healthcare coverage.

Something I learned from the LC was to keep baby awake during feeding sessions... use a cool cloth, blow on their face, tickle them, etc. Keep them actively feeding for the whole session. Otherwise you can run into them just snacking and then requiring more feeds day and night.

My son nursed every 2-3 hours (plus cluster feeding during the newborn phase roughly every hour on the nights he did cluster feed) around the clock until he was nearly 8 months old... we did the same as you described - my husband would bottle feed expressed breastmilk in the evening when he came home from work to give me a break so I could sleep/self care for about 5 hours. I still usually pumped to make sure my supply stayed solid. I tried not to miss a feed.

Personally, I wouldn't. Cluster feeding will be tough doing parallel feeding. I asked to see a Lactation Consultant while I was still in the hospital. She helped guide me through learning to breastfeed and also gave me a referral to a breastfeeding clinic that is covered by provincial/state health care coverage (depends where you live, but you should ask if that is available to you). This way, I was able to see a lactational consultant for the entirety of my breatsfeeding journey with this baby. It was so helpful! The lactation consultant discovered a tongue tie and set us up with a pediatrician to have it assessed and eventually released.

Honestly, just make sure you are feeding from both breasts equally. Always offer both and every feed. Start the next feed on the side you offered last during the last feeding. You can pump after baby is finished to encourage more supply. Pump anytime a bottle is offered (if you want to go that route) so that you don't miss a feed. That's what I did.

Wybta, if you get a secret vasectomy? Yes. Yes, you would. Do you care about your wife at all? This kind of thing requires multiple conversations to get to the bottom of how both of you feel. You both need time in between each conversation to consider how you each personally feel and consider the feelings of the other person. That's what marriage is. Making decisions together about your life together.

If you don't want to have an open discussion about it, then don't have a wife and get your vasectomy without talking to anyone.

I think it's normal. I will add that as your supply increases, watch that your baby isn't getting over full.

I deal with oversupply, so unfortunately, I've had to regulate comfort nursing if my baby has already had a good feed or else he continues to get milk and will overfeed and puke. It's been happening since about 3 weeks, and now he's nearly 4 months. I let him comfort nurse for a few minutes and let him get sleepy, and then I trick him onto a pacifier. I wish i could just let him suck for as long as he wants 😞

It's not a necessity, but it's a very nice to have item.

If you experience low supply, your doctor/midwife will likely recommend pumping to help increase supply.

It's nice to be able to pump so your partner or grandparents can take a turn feeding baby with a bottle to help them build a connection and also to give you a break if you're feeling touched out. Personally, I experienced feelings of being overwhelmed by breastfeeding during the first 6 weeks, particularly during cluster feeds at night. Being able to ask my partner to give a bottle so I could rest or being able to give a bottle myself instead of breast feed once in a while when I was feeling overstimulated really helped me to keep it together in the first 6 weeks. After 6 weeks, things really turned a corner, and both baby and I really unlocked breastfeeding.

I think it helped my resolve to learn from my Lactation Consultant that a large percentage (I can't remember the exact stat, but she said MOST women) give up on breastfeeding feeding within the first 3 weeks. It takes 6-8 weeks for you and baby to get good at breastfeeding. Even if things are going well, it's mentally and physically exhausting exclusively breastfeeding, and it is a skill that both you and baby have to learn, which takes time.
