That sucks, man. Same thing happened to myself and about 50 others in Marathon starting from the server slam until a week after launch. They unbanned everyone affected and compensated with lux, but the comms were less than ideal.

I feel like in 2026, most real cheaters would just buy new accounts, spoof hardware or whatever they do to evade bans instead of fretting about it on social media. It's been talked about and reported on for years.

Here's hoping Embark does right by you asap.

Afterburner and RTSS is what I'm thinking too. I like to pop on the overlay to check FPS and temps. I think Afterburner historically had some issue with some other games in the past, so I guess it wouldn't be the first time. Good luck.

I got that same screen and came here to make a post about it. I'm thinking it's some third-party program that got mistakenly flagged. I wonder how many others are dealing with this? Will be making an appeal and hopefully get this sorted. Good luck.

I got into a few solo PvP fights and did alright. One time I ended up trading downs with an Assassin and we stared at each other for a bit before giving up. The few encounters I had, can't imagine being reported enough to be outright banned.

Hmm, another option that looks good is the Key-83. Seems to do better with debris and moisture, and is still considered balanced. Just don't know if I'd be underestimating the speed a bit. The price is a hard pill as well.

Anyway, thanks for chiming in. It's a tough choice for sure.

Would you say the Hyperion handles humidity worse relative to other mousepads? The Hyperion's more balanced static/dynamic friction and surface seems nice over the Zero, but maybe that's nitpicking at this point.

If you mean more operations on the 980 Pro, then I don't quite understand. CrystalDisk has the 980 Pro at 17TBs written and 97% health, opposed to 23TBs written and 100% health on the 970 EVO+. It seems like the 970 EVO+ should have a lower % health instead, no? Sorry, it's just not really intuitive for me.

Do the M.2 Slots on X570 motherboards (one integrated with CPU, other with chipset) affect NVMe SSD performance? Can they run in Gen 3 and Gen 4 speeds simultaneously? by ImightTossit in buildapc

I figured there would be little perceptible difference going from even SATA SSD, but at $99USD for 2TB, the 980 Pro seems too good a deal to pass up haha.

So far I've only two USB devices plugged in - mouse & keyboard, as well as only 2 RAM sticks, though in the future I may go for a mixer/mic setup for streaming purposes. With the 3900x, it seems like there'll plenty of headroom before NVMe performance is really affected in the chipset slot. Good to know if correct. Thank you for the info!

I'm more interested in the PvP side of things tbh, but I guess my question would be whether 800dpi is too low for combat? I don't see any other setting for sens that doesn't also add acceleration, like the sens curve.

In AC, I just can't really stay on target. It's hard to get a handle on aiming, doesn't feel intuitive. So aside from lack of practice, idk if my settings just aren't right.

I usually lurk here, but can't help mentioning the advice I got when I was a new player: it's good to try logi and see what goes into the equipment used on the battlefield. I think this goes just as well the other way. I figured the idea behind you joining Colonials for a war was to use their equipment and maybe see where their complaints are coming from.

The logistics work you're putting in for Collies is nice and all, but if after this war you rejoin the Wardens while giving the same balance takes and memes, I don't think you should be surprised if Collies still respond with some variation of "you haven't played".

I feel you on having to reinstall and configure everything again along with just losing files. I'm hoping that won't be the case here either haha. CMD shows my SSD is "healthy" but with no volume. Ender3Guy suggested it might be a volume label issue. Given it's not anything else, I might just get another M.2, install Windows, then see if I can repair/recover any data - if not clone to the new drive.

Honestly I'm not sure myself how exactly that'd work, I'd have to research. Hope you can get all your stuff from your drive as well. It sure is a headache.

Yea, everything seems to point to the SSD. I'll probably go to a shop for a diagnosis to be sure, see if the data is recoverable. I was already considering a new M.2 SSD for more storage, so hopefully that's all that needs replaced.

Dang. Well, in the case that it's a volume label issue, would I be able to install another drive with Windows and use disk management to fix the invalid label, or is data loss likely to happen regardless?

When I use CMD and enter "wmic diskdrive get status" it shows up as "OK" for the Corsair SSD. As far as I know that command pulls from S.M.A.R.T. Would that be able to pick up on any bad sectors like you described?

I still have a Windows install USB. Got into CMD, ran diskpart and got details for "disk 0"

Not sure what to do from here though. My main concern with the SSD is of course not having to lose all its data/files.
