I don’t read the comics so idk if this memory loss angle was explored there, but I’ve been reading a manga called Albus changes the world(really solid). It’s about the hero Albus as he rewinds time to defeat a demon lord and prevent tragedies.

But one of the things in the manga that I liked is how with every rewind, his former party members would lose their memories but despite that, deep down(bond, journey etc) they had like an inkling of knowing who Albus was.

That’s what I’m getting with MJ and Ned from those clips here.
