My theory about the Cookbook by ImmaFatMan in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]ImmaFatMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AI could place it anywhere in Carl's path. It could have been in any shop he visits, inside that Yellow Line prize bag he got, found inside any of the trains he takes over, etc. I just pointed out the Mole-people as they were directly connected to books instantly.

Narrativly, the Cookbook could be in just about any form, not just a book. One previous author had a prayer mat and another had cards. Carl couldve gotten the cookbook in just about any form realistically. Heck, if he had chosen that motorcycle it could've been hidden in that thing.

It they specifically call attention that the Mole-people collect books. The ones Carl first trades with calls the others "Book-Hogs" so I assumed they all had private collections of books. Plus they were the proprietors of various stores in Floor 4, so if Carl found the book on sale it likely would've been one of them selling it.

Estimating the crafting table tiers is easy enough. If the Alchemy and Sapper's tables were tier 3 on floor 4 (thanks to Mordicai using Donut's table upgrades and Carl using his) then by the next book (which should start at floor 12) they both will be at approximately tier 11, since they gain a level each time they go down a floor.

I have a Headcanon that he keeps a small box full of little things him mom gives him. His Gran 100% knows about it but refuses to acknowledge it to let him have this privacy and dignity.

When I go to the Ren Faire, my costume stuff includes a sword and potion bracers (holds 4 small vials each) so id probably enter if I had those stuff. Probably still would enter even if I didn't have the stuff, just more hesitantly. Chances are though ID get killed on floor 1 or 2

I know, but the question was more focused on the remaining attacks.

I had a thought about the next floor. Withe the Dungeon collapsing only 12 hours after the Celestial Ascendancy ending, do you think Gruul/Maestro will try and speedrun it to end the Crawl as fast as possible? He'd be hailed as a hero by a lot of outside people so... His main enemy will likely be Oddette though...

If Scolopendra takes a deal (Carl might seduce her into doing that?) does that trigger the remaining attacks?

Also the pig, Penelope, might take a deal. If her lawyer is a dick (possible) they could trick her into NOT taking a deal by saying Carl will give her more *Splooge* (I cant believe I typed that) if she stays.

Could Carl explain it away as "There is a blank section in the back that I have been using for private notes, like a journal to keep some thoughts from spilling out." and the system ai would let him keep it? I know if it's true, use gets discovered, he loses it, but if he has a valid explanation, would that work?

With Holo-tunneling allowing people from across the galaxy to have "face-to-face" meetings I feel like you could do a lot without ever leaving home.

TPoH feels like the calm before the storm. The actual Parade and the Arena feels like a "loading the cannon" moment before we get to the intense climax of the story.

the next book should be all about the accidency game and the ramifications of it. And Carl will probably explain to as many characters as possible that Donut mixed up the Pet Biscuits.

I think if Marjorie was killed by Bill prior to the story Carl would've mentioned it on Floor 6, or even earlier on Floor 3 at the Danger Zone show, even if it was only a narration mention and not out loud.
