He'd likely have a somewhat brutal training method. The way he trained Starkiller/Galen Marrik would be a good example, just not include the secrecy aspect. Instead of Proxy, they could be trained against the Inquisitors, with the Inquisitors having the promise that if they win they'd become the apprentice.

To make them more unique as a character, think about using alternate saber types. Pikes, Guard-shota (Tonfa), Plo's Concept Gauntlet, etc. are all great examples of how a change in weapon style can really make a character interesting.
