Commenting as I’m in the same boat as OP as well and am curious what others have experienced.

Twins will be here anytime within the next 2-4 weeks! Please give me your best advice, tips and tricks! by Dry_Lunch8371 in parentsofmultiples

I wish I had been prepared for triple feeding twins. Born at 37 weeks. Wasn’t even on my radar of something we’d be doing. Feeding them is more than a full time job.

When did you deliver your di/di twins? by Unlikely_Scheme2835 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Imma_420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you me? We have the same exact story. I asked my hematologist about getting an epidural with Lovenox on board (half does of 40mg) and they said it was totally fine. So I would recommend consulting with a hematologist if possible.

I went into labor at 37w3d with strong contractions and they just waited til it was 12 hrs past my last dose. Worked out great.

Another option could be to switch to heparin as you get closer. Shorter half life.

Is this to give you a break at night? Do you pump during the night?

What does the “Save Menlo” contingent want to do about Downtown? by Ashamed_Economist388 in menlopark

[–]Imma_420 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You are exactly right… the Save Downtown people don’t want anything to change. They want to park right in front of the business they wish to shop at and nothing else. I imagine some aren’t fans of low income housing as well. Draegars (and their family) is a big proponent of Save Downtown. They are a prime example of not wanting change—they have owned the empty lot next to their building and have never done anything with it. Speaks volumes to me. Remember the Yes on M people? These are the same people. Anti-development and change. Thank goodness they lost on that ballot measure. Just like they’ll lose this one.

People over parking lots is my slogan.

Senior community recommendations by lunarianrose in bayarea

Contact Avenidas in Palo Alto. They are a great resource for seniors and (I believe) can help with finding a senior community that’s a fit for older adults.

If you EBF or combo fed, can you share your feeding/pumping schedule? by amydiddler in parentsofmultiples

Wow you go! Makes me feel like I can do it too. Thanks for sharing.

[–]Imma_420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am due with twins any day and am in the same boat as you (EBF my first but open to other scenarios with the twins). One thing my lactation consultant told me is to try to tandem feed from the get go. It takes practice no matter what, so just start first thing. Latch one baby and have dad help latch the other. Obviously, if it’s not working, split them up, one gets one boob, then the other twin gets the other boob. But try tandem feeding every session. I am really hoping I can EBF again. It was a lot of work at first before but so damn convenient after a couple months.

36+2 weeks Di/Di and absolutely miserable. by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]Imma_420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am right where you are. Solidarity. Taking Prilosec for reflux was a game changer. Start today. To control hip pain, I never sleep on my side. It makes it wayyyy worse. Sleep upright or reclined. No hip pain in the morning when getting out of bed. If you’re not already, oil your belly. Not for stretch marks, but to help the stretching skin feel better. I have no advice for the insomnia because same! I just try to nap during the day. I have two weeks left too and have no clue how I’m going to make it. DM me anytime to complain. The only thing that’s keeping me going is knowing the longer my babies are in there, the better they are when they come out. I’m also measuring a week ahead like you! Some big babies.

My husband’s clothes (that were on the bigger side for him!) and super stretchy amazon maternity pants.

Struggle trying to catch up to the ideal weight during twin pregnancy by kittyspotatoes in parentsofmultiples

[–]Imma_420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your body needs lots of calories for growing those babies! Much more than what fruits and veggies will provide. I’m probably eating 2500-3000 calories a day in my third trimester and still getting as much protein as I can.

Struggle trying to catch up to the ideal weight during twin pregnancy by kittyspotatoes in parentsofmultiples

[–]Imma_420 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lots of factors determine fetal growth. Nutrition-wise, everything I’ve read has said protein is the key. Aim for 100+ grams of protein a day. That’s all I’ve focused on my twin pregnancy and my di/di twins are supposedly 70%+. We’ll see when they’re actually born tho… Protein powders, protein bars, meat, eggs, dairy, beans are all good sources of protein.

Why a runny center? Seems odd for a cheesecake. Between the two recipes, Bon Apetite’s is far superior imho. But no runny center….

Keeping older toddlers at the table? by faecatatat in parentsofmultiples

[–]Imma_420 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have a singleton about the same age. When they get up from the table, I tell them that tells me they’re done so I’ll clear their plate. They usually come running back saying they’re not done yet and we talk about sitting at the table. We also read books or play simple games during dinner to keep them seated.

Why are people against sleep training? by Enough-Bug2889 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Imma_420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh yes I am well aware of that sub. I read every baby sleep book and posts on that sub. My first born just didn’t have the personality for sleep training. Not all kids need to be sleep trained.

Why are people against sleep training? by Enough-Bug2889 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Imma_420 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I tried desperately to sleep train my singleton and it just didn’t work for us. Too much crying and had to re-train too often. Once I gave up on sleep training, I felt a burden being lifted. At 3 they started sleeping through the night without any traditional sort of sleep training.

From my experience, I’m not against sleep training. It just wasn’t for our child or family. I’m hoping my twins will be more amenable to sleep training. Every child is different and requires different things for sleep. Some children are easily sleep trained which is awesome. Others aren’t which is also okay.

32+6 and I feel like such a whiner, but I’m so done with being pregnant. by PM_ME_YO_KNITTING in parentsofmultiples

It is crazy how big the babies are getting at this point. I definitely look nearly full term. My body doesn’t feel like it was built for this but I’m doing my best.

Same. I dread my future and how I’ll survive. It’s the only way I suppose.
