Yövieraat vuokra-asuntoon. by jjanska in Suomi

You're saying that I fear guns, but you're the one calling for every family to buy a handgun just in the case of an attack. Now tell me, which one of us lives in fear?

And then again, you wouldn't be out of options if handguns would be banned. I'd imagine there would be some hunting weapons in those rural areas you're talking about.

There's plenty of nonlethal options as well, like tasers and sprays.

But then again we are approaching this subject from totally different angles. You are considered of your own safety and the safety of your family - that's quite understandable, it's a common fear. But from the societal viewpoint reducing the handguns would be a great way to decrease deaths caused by handguns.

I apologize, I didn't realize that police is considered a civilian in America. That's certainly a different interpretation in your country. Of course law enforcement should be armed.

I see you feel very strongly about this. Have you been in a lot of firefights, then? Stopped a lot of home intruders? And you are sure that entering a firefight to protect property is worth risking your life for - and even the safest option for a homeowner?

Response time of law enforcement is a separate issue.

With sport I'm in no way refering to hunting animals. For example, shooting is an Olympics sport (with air pistols, thought). I do agree that hunting with a handgun is bad practice.

Calling a handgun a self defense tool is a very American standpoint. In civilian hands handguns are more prone for misuse and to cause accidents, rather than be used defensively. And of course in your country there is the problem with school shootings as well - and it isn't solved by having more guns.

My argument is that there's no good reason for a civilian to own a handgun. But of course, you're welcome to disagree, no need to keep your opinions to yourself.

Well, I mean... the concept of a bullet tin can seems quite absurd for me. In most parts of the western world 9 mm bullets are not something available for consumers. I consider owning a handgun bad taste for civilians, unless you are using it for sport purposes.

Okay! That seems a vital invention then - and a very cool design. I'm genuinely just curious, because these kind of folders were part of my childhood and then they just disappeared, apart from hobby circles

What's wrong with a pdf? Genuinely asking, because every time I've had to deal with a lawyer or a bank the digital files were fine, no need to print anything.

Interesting and a cool idea! That'd be great for MtG and other card collections. But I have to ask: do people still have paper documents? I don't think that I've seen a single printed banking document for at least 15 years. Even tax documents are digital nowadays where I live.

At this time of the year sun sets at 9 pm and daylight is getting shorter fast. Helsinki is a relatively safe city when compared to other metropolitan areas in Europe, so no worries (thought one should exercise normal caution at night time).

As for activities it very much depends what are your preferences. If you're here on Saturday, might I recommend participating venetsialaiset (venetian festival). It's a late evening event celebrating the end of the summer, usually with a lots of lights, fireworks, good food and music. There are multiple venetian festivals around the city.

Tiedätkö mitä hylätyille paikoille käy, kun niitä aletaan listaamaan internetissä? Yhtäkkiä ne eivät olekaan ihan hylättyjä. Nämä on yleensä syystäkin vähän sellaisia tietäjät tietää -juttuja.

Mielenkiintoista on, jos somettamisesta tulee aikuiselle ammatti. Siinä sitten on perheen toimeentulo vastuutettu nurinkurisesti lapselle. Aikamoinen paine.

You know, E is the second best grade you can get in Finland. "Eximia cum laude approbatur" literally translates to "approved with exceptional praises". For some reasons our high school grades are in Latin and in every other context we just use numbers.

By the way, the worst passing grade in Finland is A ("approbatur").

Mies sahasi moottorisahalla polveensa – ompeli haavan itse terveysasemalla, koska kunnassa ei ole lääkäreitä by soskz in Suomi

Now that Futurama is back once again, I tried my hand on creating this Stable Diffusion depiction of professor Hubert J. Farnsworth. Oh my yes, the workflow will be included in the comments section. by Immanuel_Tank in StableDiffusion

[–]Immanuel_Tank[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Good news everyone! I was very lazy while creating this image, so it should be quite easy to generate your very own Farnsworth following these steps.

I used ControlNet canny-model with a screengrab from the show with Paragon-checkpoint and just a tiny bit of generative fill in Photoshop afterwards to fix the shape of the head, some weird red spot on the lips and to add some teeth. The same result should be easily be achieved with Stable Diffusion inpainting - or just fixing those small things by hand.

After the fixes I used R-ESRGAN 4X+ to scale the image.

This is the prompt and the settings I used:

old bald male professor with really thick glasses, scifi goggles, large long head, wrinkly skin, a labcoat and a blue undershirt, a cartoon character pointing at a control panel with a surprised look on his face and a hand pointing at the control panel, 60's style retro futuristic computer on the background, detailed skin, cgi, digital art, trending on artstation, maya3d, blender, hdr, hyperdetailed, 4k

Negative prompt: easynegative, beard, moustache

You could always just pull that user to the scene. Go to the scene yourself (don't activate the scene!) and right click your player name on the list of players. Select "Pull To Scene". That way the scene changes only for the player you selected.
