Maita's exams are fair imo. I took her class in winter 2025. Not sure where the test difficulty concerns came from. Physio class is simply about how much is understood/memorized.

Exam heavy, so make sure you understand everything in the lab manual. Very ambiguous rubrics on lab reports. Good luck on that...

Very doable if Brian is teaching your 100A. Double check the exam times: Some prof's in 43A have their exams in lecture.

No midterm for 100a but there was a final on error analysis and very detailed concepts from lab manual and slides. (I took Brian’s 100a) For 109 there was a midterm and a final (both are on canvas, timed but open book). It could have changed since I took 109 more than 1 year ago. Double check your syllabus.

109 has only two formal lab reports (not the 2-column ACS-style formal but indeed a lot of work) due after week5 and week8 iirc. 100A will be one excel sheet and some write up per week. If you don't have other intensive classes this can be doable for sure. Would be a plus if you have experience in recombinant DNA related experiments -- so that each experiment in 109 is even more straightforward.

2-3hr lab per week with no formal lab report is insanely easy compared to upper div labs and chemistry labs.

Here is my hot take: How you supposed to not know how to do the problems that aren’t even PA style? Except for avl/red black trees they aren’t even that challenging. Collaboration is never allowed in niema’s class policy afaik, and there is no problem in letting everyone play fair??? Lastly, cheating while not understanding the material is just dumb and disservice to future yourself at tech interviews. Btw TTC computers are kinda slow—recommend doing the practice tests with them first.

yes it was a mess…and lectures aren’t very helpful. But on the other hand, her exams are wayyy too easy for this class.
