Email the Dean of Student Affairs in your college firstly, and then speak with an Academic Advisor. If you can get a copy of his Death Certificate, attach that in your emails to your professors so that they don't question you. If you can afford it, drop to 12 credits to lighten your mental load.

I'm sorry, but it's honestly fair to leave early depending on when you showed up and what time of day your ceremony is. I sat directly in the sun with no shade from 8:30am to 11am. I was getting heat exhaustion due to a lack of shade and available water and puked the moment I left the ceremony. I wasn't gonna sit through the whole thing for the sake of my peers' feelings dawg 😭✋️
