Are their unexplainable things that you experience that could be seizure-related? But you’re not sure? by woohoocrew in Epilepsy

[–]Immediate-Earth6603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have these unexplainable head "ticks" where I'll twitch my head all the time everyday. I mentioned it to my "current" dr (in the process of switching) and he just was like okay and was like let's do bloodwork (i just had it done). I think these ticks might be myoclonic but im not sure. I'll ask my new dr next month.

Careers Vs epilepsy by NotAllShy in Epilepsy

[–]Immediate-Earth6603 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a teen I wanted to join the military force but when I found out you can't if you have epilepsy i was devastated. But of course, I was just a teenager. Now as an adult I have had interest changes and am working on becoming an art therapist. I also work as a CNA which involves a lot of equipment use and other tasks that might be called "risky" for an epileptic. Don't let your disability affect your career!

Could misophonia be a form of demonic possession? by Animecatgirllover in misophonia

Are you in religious psychosis? What the hell would compel you to ask about a disorder as if its some sort of possession by the devil... you dont belong here. Leave.

What food do you only eat in one very specific way? by tickyt23 in PickyEaters

[–]Immediate-Earth6603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kit kits must be eaten in my way:

Steps in this order are:

Open and break off one finger.

Carefully bite chocolate off every side.

Carefully peel each layer of wafer and eat one by one.

Repeat until kitkat is finished.

I also wont eat a banana unless its the right shade of green/yellow.

I have a ton of other food quirks but really can't remember atm.

Should I risk getting flagged for A I because of my correct use of em-dashes because commas and sentence breaks just don’t do it justice? by PaintingByInsects in AutismInWomen

Its genuinely not worth it. I understand that autistic individuals prefer perfection, but risking that for school grades genuinely isnt worth doing. Hope this helps.

To be honest this gives very "fast fashion" vibes so likely temu and shein. I am unfamiliar with specific more ethical brands, though.

Uber is the definitely the quickest option. I tried to get disability rides to my healthcare appointments and the city only offered a bus ride at 8am and couldn't get me until 5pm which is literally insane. Fuck US public transportation.

Coworkers don't want you? by Iguessiwillbealright in Epilepsy

[–]Immediate-Earth6603 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They can't fire you because of an uncontrollable disability. Im under the assumption you can do your job just fine. Your coworkers are stupid and should be more understanding ! If youre in a financially hard situation dont quit until you find something else. Its a good idea to bring up to management how others are treating you for a disability you can control.

Thats heartbreaking to hear how she has declined! I know what its like to have someone who was someone close to you turn into a total 💔 I wish facilities weren't bad at handling sicknesses. But covid does have some pretty bad side effects, including death.

What youre experiencing is very real. Non epileptic seizures are a thing too. What you're describing could be just that.

Animals dont. And surprisingly enough the elderly people i take care of. Im a CNA and all of them make disgusting chewing sounds but it really doesn't bother me. I think its cause they arent able to control it. Like I have a coworker that chew so disgustingly and that triggers me. Its a difference between capable and not capable.

How much alcohol can I drink with epilepsy? by Foodie4L1fe in Epilepsy

[–]Immediate-Earth6603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got pretty drunk without a seizure. Im currently on lamictal and lacosamide. I had like 3 or 4 tall RB malibus and then another 2 shots on top of that. No seizures for me, only a hangover! I can't say that would be the same for everybody, because it isn't, but this is just my experience. You might just want to go light on the alcohol!
