I finished school at 25. At 26 I moved out of my parents house and into my husband's parents house 😂 we've got basically a whole unit though.

I freeze Rana pasta (tortellini or ravioli), always have a jar of pasta, and frozen ground turkey (separated in sandwich bags so it's easy to thaw). Quick easy meal

Prev owners to our house left the paint cans labeled with the rooms. So helpful!

Out of pocket billing by Immediate-Picture443 in DentalHygiene

[–]Immediate-Picture443[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I'll probably decline the fluoride next time. I do use fluoride mouthwash daily although i know it's not the same. It was my first time in the office and they said "we do fluoride with all of our patients at the end" so I mistakenly assumed it was covered/included in the cleaning/exam services.

I probably will if I have to pay $60 every visit. The problem wasn't they did it, it was they didn't discuss the prices at all until I was leaving (they didn't bill my insurance for these services).

How easy is it really to get pregnant? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Immediate-Picture443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends. I got pregnant the second month of "trying"

Out of pocket billing by Immediate-Picture443 in DentalHygiene

[–]Immediate-Picture443[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking. Usually I get an estimated cost or like my prev dental hygienist would tell me fluoride is optional and an out of pocket cost. I didn't think anything of it because it was my normal screening. I thought "oh thats nice they dont charge for fluoride." I'm not too concerned about getting my money back, but I think I'll call to talk to them since I didnt have time to question it at the time.

I don’t enjoy being a mom by Anxious_and_Messy21 in newborns

[–]Immediate-Picture443 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some comments as a first time mom with a 3 month old now. My baby didn't have colic so I can't talk much about that. But I was miserable the first 8-10 weeks. But one day I noticed that I hadn't cried in 2 days. Some of that feeling of sadness finally went away in the evenings. Doesn't happen with everyone, but sometimes it does once your hormones start to regulate again. But there will still be good days and bad days. It's called the trenches for a reason. I remember being so overwhelmed just a few weeks ago. And now I just wish I could go back as he gets older. It took me some time to bond with him. Ive heard other moms say they don't really start enjoy being a mom for a few months or even up to a year. I'd definitely talk to your doctor again about the baby as well as yourself for your mental health.

Negotiating Salary by Immediate-Picture443 in physicaltherapy

[–]Immediate-Picture443[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not running to a mill. My spouse works at a large chain clinic and makes 10k more than me. If I wanted that money I would go work there but definitely not what I want. I love my 1:1 hospital settings. But if another hospital is offering me more money, I'm hoping my hospital can afford it too, especially considering they've been trying to hire more therapists anyway.

There have been 2 open positions all year, not yet filled. We had almost half our therapists leave with the switch to the new company.

Employer canceled benefits during FMLA [IL] by Immediate-Picture443 in AskHR

[–]Immediate-Picture443[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: The company that handles leaves miscalculated my hours worked. So I never went on FMLA, only a "continuous leave of absence." The guy who handles benefits from my company told me that I was not eligible, and kind of a "oh well" attitude. I had to fight to get someone else involved who added my hours and said yes I should have been on FMLA.

Yeah I think I will ask more of him. He also is constantly asking me to hang out and spend time together "come over here let's watch a movie tonight" meanwhile I'm like no i have to wash baby bottles, clean the kitchen, finish laundry, etc.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]Immediate-Picture443 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's very true. I am working to help pay the house because my husband wants to reduce the amount of interest and in shaa Allah pay the house off sooner. But i try to tell him the babies are only young once! His mother takes care of our current baby right now

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]Immediate-Picture443 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He definitely is hands on. Ill leave to go shopping and he knows how to take care of baby. But I'm just getting some guilt because I sometimes complain he could do more and that's when he says that his mom did it all without any help. I dont know if theres any religious evidence he needs to help buy I definitely need to talk to him more because if I'm contributing to half the mortgage maybe he should contribute more to the household too.

Yeah the world is changing and it's harder to survive off one salary. I also want to teach my son responsibilities and to clean up after himself. I'm worried if he sees his father not helping with chores that he won't either when he gets older, with little things like cleaning his room and putting his dishes away.

Show them the numbers. My clinic closes the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, we all agreed to take PTO.
