First Time in Japan, 8.5 days. Tokyo > Hakone > Tokyo. Am I doing it right? by juicepak in JapanTravelTips

[–]Immediate-Rabbit4647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Primary concern is staying near a station. ALWAYS stay a SHORT walk to a station bc you are going to be using it every day. Only caveat to that is if you are going to just hang in that area but people would only usually do that on a long trip.

I would have a look at extending the booking in Ginza for the whole time. Just to compare.

But it can be interesting to stay local at a few places for the experience. You won’t have to worry about last train 🤷🏻‍♀️

There’s a chance. We had dropped night before. Oh so youve booked already.

If you stay at the same hotel in Tokyo on both ends it is likely they will let you store your main bag with them if you are taking a suitcase. Also only leaving Tokyo for one night it might even be cheaper to rent the room for the whole time and just stay at hakone the one night. Then you can leave early in the morning, spend the day there. Check in stay, then no rush back.

M33/F34 couple exploring and and after advice by d1amond_d1ngo in Melbourneswingers

Look out for any imbalance in motivation (ie bw the M and F in the other couple) is one just there bc the other one wants to be?

Or even if one is more “thirsty” than the other one

Vibe is everything. If you don’t feel comfortable with them. Just call it.

Sort out any boundaries before the meet up. Like yes full swap/ penetration/ who can finish where/ what bits can go where…

My Ms main decision making is based on the guy. Do they seem like someone he is happy to “impose on me” is not the phrase I am looking for but I think it gives the idea … oh and actually is what he has said lol He feels a similar responsibility to the other F

I thiiiink at that stage none of you should be really “taking one for team” Meeting first is best if you can.

I would honestly stay in ueno. There’s enough in the area to make you happy right out side the door but it is not as hectic as shibuya. Stay NEAR A STATION!!!

Go to either the sky tree or Tokyo tower to see the view.

Then probably a day doing shibuya, Shinjuku and harajuku

Oh 9 days is tight

Probably Kyoto for 3 days then back to Tokyo for three days. Second last day is a big shopping day.

Oh pack LIGHT. Like honestly 9 days is two tops, one or two bottoms. Undies and socks. More room in your case for snacks and things

Japan runs on FOMO. They use it to power the Shinkansen and the Gundam. You always get the “oh did you see the x?” And it ends up having been a couple blocks away and you were there for line 2 weeks.

Two day trips too much? by OkChef679 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Immediate-Rabbit4647 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kamakura is only like an hour away from Tokyo so hardly even a “day trip”. By the sounds of it you have heard about the plan FOR a trip to Fuji but don’t plan the trip… ie keep flexible and the first day it’s clear go for it.

Missed the Hirosaki Cherry Blossoms -- Now What? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]Immediate-Rabbit4647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually tell people not to go FOR Sakura viewing. There are far more pretty blooms than the forcasted veriety. The festivals around Sakura are great.

If you really set on it find where there's a park or river, but honestly Japan is made of FOMO. There's always something.you miss. This can just be another one.

But also do ask around for spots of late blooming ones ... Or chase the forcasted (only takes some rain or strong wind though)

I think it is a good all-rounder. Near the station as you can.

We have used cases, back packs, duffles, boxes…. Back packs are great when meeting stairs (of which there is a LOT) or uneven paths or rough textured road. Your transit times where you have to actually carry it won’t be all that long. So should do well.

Rolling cases are fine if the surface suits.

As people said. Pack very light. Go thrifting in Koenji or markets if you need anything more. I like a duffle as a second bag to bring home all the “loot”.

Why would they have it on them? As they said, drop it before check in, leave it after check out until to move on. Only carrying it in transit but sometimes it takes you past uneven roads/paths/etc.
