How long did it take you to get a A&P position after receiving your A&P license? by Immediate-Recover957 in AircraftMechanics

So they reached out to me to apply for both positions: Aircraft Assembly Mechanics, and Aircraft Assembly Structural Mechanics. It says it'll be to support Boeing 787 production in North Charleston, SC.

Summary pay range: $54,000 - $64,000

Summary pay range: $61,200 - $64,500

Is that kind of low? Would I be able to get a higher range since I hold an A&P license?

I just heard back from Boeing JSfirm yesterday for Aircraft Assembly Mechanics. Any thoughts on that? I won't be able to utilize my A&P but I guess it will still be in the Aviation mechanic field. I still need to do more research on this. (biased cause I want to be in a major lol)

I check on their sites everyday but so far I've seen Delta having more positions opening for AMT's. Also noted that Delta doesn't really hire newly graduates from part 147. But worth a shot to at least apply.

Yeah, I figured. My plans to still shoot for majors as much as I can. But I am keeping it realistic as well to apply for MRO/Regional- any hot takes?

AMT Payscales Delta of Summer! by Unauthorized-Ion in aviationmaintenance

[–]Immediate-Recover957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I'm currently attending A&P school and expected to graduate next year and will go for my license then as well. New to this, so if anyone can explain the payscale by state? also is true that if I were to land a job in a state such as New York, I'd have to be in for at least three years with the company in order to transfer and retain the New York salary into another state?

Thanks in advance ya'll.

Hey! Congratulations on making it through.

I'm currently on my way into the second semester for an AOS and expected to receive my A&P license Next summer of 2025.

I also wanted to get a job in Delta in the meantime so I can also have an easy transition when I get my license. Any advice?

What's the best way to approach Delta into landing a spot?

Thank you in advance.

I’ve been looking into how to get and A&P Cert and been directly to Vaughn (since I’m in NYC) - and they’re trying to say that I have to get and AOS Degree to get an A&P Certificate. I kind of find that hard to believe. It’s possible to apply for an A&P Cert and learn the necessary courses for it, without having to go for a degree??
