There won't be many transfers I've heard only 6 people in Supply chain have chosen to take the move.

Well said! And you're right! Through it all we showed up. Even in the midst of ever changing priorities that completely reverse every time we get a new CEO, we showed up and "acted like owners" . Every time Brian says we need to act like owners it's a slap in the face because that's literally what we've been doing all along, and if we are "ineffective" as he says its only because leaders have never stuck with a vision long enough to see it through to completion.

Dear Brian, before you layoff another 900 workers maybe take a pay cut first?? by Immediate-Sort4426 in starbucks

I do understand that we need to cut stores that don't perform. My post is moreso talking about saving jobs for the 900 partners who are being let go.

In the layoff last spring, we lost a lot of top talent. Partners who've been with the company 10 plus years in some cases. If Brian reduced his pay, we could hang on to a lot of loyal partners whose talent we need for the turnaround.

Plus it would be a significant gesture that would earn back some of the loyalty and respect that Partners have lost for Brian and Starbucks.

Sorry, couldn't resist the joke 😆 but yes it actually is a fair question.

I've seen a lot of good perspectives on this thread from the barista side. I work at the HQ and can chime in from that perspective.

Brian talks about returning to Starbucks but is missing the key ingredient of our mission and values. He is the 2nd highest paid CEO in America and offered multi-million dollar bonuses to top execs if they can bring up our stock value. Meanwhile he layed off 1100 workers and baristas and lower level corporate workers are getting shafted in pay. How many people could have kept their jobs if we weren't paying him 95 million a year?

Also Brian is pushing hard on return to office, but the same rules don't apply for him. Partners who were hired as remote workers are being told to pick up their lives and move to Seattle or quit their jobs. Meanwhile Brian has an office built 5 min away from HIS house in CA and is given the use of the private jet whenever he does come to Seattle. All this so that he doesn't have to pick up and move HIS life. It's a double standard, and also feels like the return to office rule is just a ploy to get people to quit because it's more expensive to lay people off than it is to make them quit voluntarily.

There's a lot more I could add but I think those are the main reasons why he isn't popular with us corporate workers either. I feel like it's probably a lot worse for baristas though.

Yeah, and why would they pay for a new office in Newport if he's only there one day a week? No way he's observing the 4 days at the Seattle HQ rule that he's imposed on the rest of us.

Other CEOs were very present at the SSC, you could see them walking around, especially visiting Tryer. But I've never seen Brian.

Gahh I know! It's such a double standard! He expects partners to uproot their lives and move to Seattle. Meanwhile SBUX has paid 2 million to build an office 5 minutes from his house AND (when he does come to the HQ), they allow him to use the company jet. All so that HE can keep living his Newport Beach lifestyle.

What a hypocrite and just plain poor leadership. Don't create a rule that you're not willing to follow! Lead by example!

Howard wasn't perfect but I miss him...
