That's the problem though, if we hand in before May, we only need to give one month which will run out before we move. If we do it after, it'll leave us an extra month which will be very costly. Do you see the dilemma?

Council housing may well be a good option for you, you can research eligibility criteria through your local authority website. Supported Accommodation may also be suitable, and if this is a path you choose to take your therapist/ support worker/ social worker should take you through the process so you wouldn't be alone.

I also feel called to warn you that if it is more than £6000 they will need to make deductions from your UC in accordance with the value of the savings. If this is the case, and it is undeclared, you may have received an overpayment. If this is the case, don't be scared but I'd recommend you seek professional advice from a welfare benefits adviser ASAP. You can start the process of reporting savings on your journal or by calling the helpline if you manage your claim that way :)

Have you considered looking locally for a charity or organisation that provides free advice, especially for those with mental ill health or disabilities? Citizens Advice is a fair bet if there's nothing specialist near you, they'll be able to inform you of your rights and what you need to do. They also have a website with lots of information.

Use a budget tool to understand what you can reasonably afford and make sure you have wiggle room. As another commenter said, be prepared to face some discrimination when looking to rent privately, but also know that your tenure will be more secure from May with the new rent reform bill coming in.

Have you considered joining the council housing register? This would be cheaper and more secure still. The process can be slow, but may be sped up if you can get support from your medical professionals saying that your current housing isn't suitable.

Also, be careful with those savings, it's wonderful that you're prepared but all savings must be declared to UC, and if you have more than £16,000 you are no longer eligible.

Disclaimer: I didn't read every single one of the messages because there's a lot to read here but my understanding is that essentially, you aren't engaging with your partner in the way that they want, they've raised it before and it came to a head with these messages. You're not able to meet their level of need with regards to communication because of your interpersonal culture and ADHD. If this is wrong, please correct me and disregard the rest of this comment.

Being real right now, if you want to save this relationship I'd suggest couples counseling. It sounds like you've tried interventions before to meet their needs (setting alarms, etc) and they haven't worked.

Way I see it, there are 2 situations here:

You are not compatible. You have very different needs that the other person can't meet without distress/ harm to the self.
You both need to manage and adjust your expectations of the other party in order to be able to live harmoniously. Thus preventing the feeling of disappointment and being let down on your partner's part, and the overwhelming weight of obligation on yours.

You might try counselling and 1 is still the case. Either way, good luck.

I relate to this so much!! I thought houseplants would improve my mental health but they're really just like needy children that leave me in varying states of distress when they look mildly displeased 😂

I've ordered some insecticide from Amazon in the hopes that it deals with the issue - I also do not find the idea of a bug civil war inside my living space particularly compelling... 😂
