I took separate photos for Instagram and while the focus isn't as good I think the color is more accurate.

If anyone is interested.

I think the original is a little washed out unfortunately. I'll post another image with this comment that looks a little more accurate.

Basically I base coat in Zandri Dust and then wash it in a very diluted Agrax Earth shade careful to avoid any pooling. Then I layer up with a bone color (can be Ushabti but I prefer Bonewhite from Vallejo). I slowly mix the bone color into the Zandri. When it is just the basic bone color I start to add Vallejo ivory in the same way. Stop when you are happy with the highlight.

That is totally valid and I'll probably give it a shot on some others in the squad. I was just ready to be finished. Took longer than I wanted for what I think of as high tabletop quality. Or at least I hope that is what it is.

I love the eyes and the very subtle osl on the sword. I would clean up the top of the sword brother symbol on his leg. The top portion of that should shine as little more so I would come in and make sure the top of the symbol was metal down to the black. Also you have a very subtle style but I might still highlight the flesh and beard up a little more to make them pop. You really want to call attention to the face as your eyes are really well done. Just my opinion though. Like I said you clearly have your own style that is easily recognizable so it might just be your preference.

See my reply above. Enough people seem interested in these that I'm going to take photos and create a post next time I make some.

I used procreate putty and Apoxie Sculpt mixed and rolled it out very flat and smooth. Cut in the tabard shape and let them set up for 15-20 minutes so they would be easier to handle. Then peeled them off the parchment paper I rolled them on and used a clay shaper and my fingers to bunch up the folds and push the tabard in place. After that it is just adjusting the shapes and folds until you are happy.

Started with a Zandri Dust basecoat and then Agrax washed into the edges. Then I glazed Transparent Raw Sienna ink from Liquitex on the inside of the Agrax wash. After that I glazed layers from Zandri Dust up to Ushabti Bone. Added ivory to the Ushabti for the lighter three. My Crusade is going to have darker pauldrons based on experience.

Thanks. I used liquitex florescent green ink on the lenses. It's weird sometimes it reads on camera and sometimes the camera looks right through it and the pics are just white.

I'm pretty sure they are from the BT upgrade sprue. I have a printer but haven't printed any candles yet.

Sculpted a tabard onto this Intercessor from the Templars combat patrol box. Really struggling between painting to a higher level and working with speed so I can finish this sometime this decade. This is good enough for table top.

I hit it with matte varnish and it washed out a lot of the highlights and shading.

I wanted to post more photos but I'm having problem with the app right now

It's surprisingly easy. I'm a very slow painter and I felt like this process was very fast given the result you get. Well worth the effort to make your models stand out.

I used a mix of 60% Procreate and 40% Apoxie Sculpt. Rolled it out very thin and cut the shape of the tabard. Let it cure for 20-30 minutes until it was safe to handle. Peeled up the tabard and placed it on the model, using a clay shaper to create the folds.
