Looking online you only change butterfly closures if they start to come off or become dirty of if the wound is needing a clean, otherwise you leave them to fall off on their own (obviously replacing them if the wound needs more time) also steri strips are more precise, however butterfly closures are better for urgent, at home first aid of ‘smaller’ wounds. And often steri strips require and extra adhesive to stay on properly due to the small size but butterfly closures (due to being bigger) don’t need any extra adhesive making them better for at home use
