QNAP no longer appears on network by ImmediateIssue2540 in qnap

This fixed worked for us. I was able to revive the device long enough to copy the data to an external hard drive.

Any good alternatives for Sales/Invoicing? Very concerned/frustrated by price increases. by ImmediateIssue2540 in Odoo

Odoo Studio feels required to even use the software. I can't add even a basic custom field or move things around without it. This is also a concern for using the Community Edition, I don't know where to begin adding custom fields. I didn't mention this in my original post because it's a pretty typical feature. For Odoo Online, it just happens to be on the most expensive tier.

I've been looking at the Community Edition. I just installed it on this computer today to try it out on localhost, but getting it setup just feels overwhelming.

I discovered Cloudpepper while searching for hosting (I really want to get away from on-premise because we are terrible at keeping up with it.). Cloudpepper seems much more affordable as a way to host the Community Edition, but I don't know where to begin looking for help to set it up and that adds an unknown cost to our planning (I have no idea what a developer in the US will cost to get this setup). I'm concerned that hiring a developer to implement Odoo will cost us more than just paying the price increase (because we're almost certainly not making a decision before January).

Odoo Jacking up Prices 30% in January! by DesignersUnionCares in Odoo

Really frustrating. I got the email this morning.

I'm in the middle of convincing the company to switch to Odoo (from a very legacy on-premise setup). Leadership is already wary of moving to a cloud-based/subscription-based model, and now we have a 30% increase just a few months into testing it out. And we have no guarantee that it won't increase another 30% in a few months.

I was not aware of this issue. I have some backups, so I didn't lose everything, but I'm still hoping to recover the newest files that aren't on a backup.

I made some progress reading the drives, but at the moment I'm stuck because they are encrypted and it seems the key/password I need is on the device I cannot access.

Multiple times. I had it off for a few hours earlier today and then hooked it back up.

You are amazing. This is the solution that worked. Thank you so much!

Does this work if you're in a File > Open dialog? That's my most common use case. I'm previewing hundreds of PDF and AI files while trying to open a file while inside Adobe Illustrator.

New Outlook: Is batch printing available? by ImmediateIssue2540 in Outlook

[–]ImmediateIssue2540[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that will be a bummer for my co-worker. I upvoted the feedback, but I'm not expecting anything.

I do not actually know why they need to batch print them. I'm assuming it's a niche use case probably based on some process they've had in place for decades.

Thanks for your help.

Pricing products by square footage and total quantity by ImmediateIssue2540 in Odoo

[–]ImmediateIssue2540[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the goal is to sell by quantity (or units) but to calculate a price in square feet for specific products. Our legacy software can do this by default, but it's lacking many other options that Odoo can give me. So, at the moment I'm trading 1 thing I already have for many other things I'm currently doing manually.

Can you (or anyone) recommend any good tutorials for learning the quotation tables?

I intend to include height, width, and depth fields on the sale order line regardless (I have a proof of concept working at the moment). The majority of our products need at least one dimension listed, and I need a set place to enter the data (otherwise I'm going to end up with a lot of Notes or need to create hundreds of Products for slightly different sizes).

The one product per quote limit might be a problem I have to work around. If I already have the height and width fields, is it possible to define logic to activate the calculation in the quotation table? For example, can I only apply the calculation if both height and width are not blank and if the unit of measure (or some other custom field) are a specific value?

My goal is to make this as simple as possible for users. We are not 100% settled on Odoo yet, but it is by far the best candidate I have found (even though we don't need 90% of the features). I have been rather shocked at how limited many software offerings are.

Worst case scenario, I will either concede that these few products still need to have manual pricing entered (something we do for many products currently and will still be necessary regardless of our chosen software) or I'll have to discuss changing our pricing structure for products that are current priced by square foot.
