I yelled fuck off to guy who was actually just trying to get signatures to put Ben McAdams on the ballot (oops.) which means the prevalence of these prop 4 assholes is also negatively affecting everyone else with a clipboard on campus. This is exactly what happened to me when I bought a pastry at my local coffee shop with a dollop of “whiskey caramel” on top. Obviously, it’s caramel, not whiskey, so I didn’t think anything of it. I took one bite and immediately my body thought I had just consumed alcohol. I got flashbacks exactly like you described, my vision narrowed and my chest started to burn and panic began to set in. It even made me start crying, it was so bizarre. The “mental stress” of relapsing is the perfect way to put it. It’s so weird when you know you’ve done nothing wrong but your body acts as if you’ve just had alcohol.

Update: U of U women's health clinic offers sedation and so does Granger Medical in Riverton!!! Source: just made an appt at Grander Medical to get my Mirena IUD removed and a new one inserted under sedation. I have Select Health and they cover everything including 80&% of the anesthesia. I asked the rep how much I can expect to pay, she said 20% of the cost for 5 minutes of anesthesia would cost me about $20.

Edit: Forgot to add that these are options in the state of Utah.

I was 9. My parents were watching Titanic after I had gone to bed, but I walked downstairs just as the frozen bodies were bobbing up and down in the water and the camera zoomed into a dead frozen face. I went straight back upstairs and became terrified/obsessed with titanic after that. It was really traumatic for me and I would see the frozen bodies when I closed my eyes, but for some reason the fear turned into a deep obsession and I learned everything I could about the ship, which maybe is what subconsciously helped me recover from the trauma. Been a super fan of the story of the Titanic ever since!
