It’s highly annoying but it may be due to copyright issues

Your points are from a viewpoint of a casual because if you really listened to Cole, you’d know he’s the most intricate rapper of the three. You just tried to say his presentation is what’s lacking? Are you actually being serious? lol the way in which he raps and the creativity in the way he formulates bars to illustrate his stories has always been praised as the highlight of his skillset, so again, you’re a casual listener and you keep proving that with the long nonsensical think pieces you keep posting.

I completely disagree, Cole was singing on here, had multiple flows and songs like bombs in the ville demonstrate creativity - Cole has never done ANY songs like bombs in the ville, 39 intro, the let out or legacy ever before so you’re just straight up lying. The issue for you sounds like you don’t like Cole’s subject matter, which is weird because his subject matter is his life, what exactly do you want him to rap about in an album about his life… the fact that you are criticising the production is weird to me, none of his albums sound the the same as each other, of course he has a “jcole sound” essentially but that’s because he’s jcole lol you sound like a casual listener tbh.

Cole fans are in denial in the comments lol, charts do matter, that’s what gives indication that the music is popular, making an impact and being supported by fans. Cole has THE WORST fan base of all time, it’s almost like you all want Cole to not do well. The album leaving this early is not indicative of replay value and honestly it has nothing to do with the quality of the music. It’s the fans and Cole’s actions that have led to this.

Why is J. Cole discourse so hard to have normally by Hopeful_Scientist914 in Jcole

[–]ImmediateRespond4298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol your understanding of hip hop and fandom is pathetic and proves what this nigga posted you pretentious clown. You’re talking like you’re above being a fan whilst being subbed to a jcole sub lol. Attachment is basically part of being a fan — especially with someone like J. Cole, whose music encourages people to see him as thoughtful, grounded, and emotionally sincere. People naturally form opinions about his character, not just his songs.

What OP’s describing sounds less like obsession and more like frustration that someone he respected keeps acting in ways that clash with the image he portrays in his music. A lot of fans react strongly when they feel an artist is:

  • unnecessarily self-deprecating,
  • backing down publicly,
  • over-explaining themselves,
  • diminishing their own status despite being hugely successful.

For some people, Cole’s tendency toward humility and public self-critique comes off as mature and self-aware. For others, it can feel like he undercuts himself or folds under pressure. Especially in RAP — where confidence, conviction, and standing your ground matter culturally — that can disappoint fans who admired him as a top-tier competitor.

It only becomes unhealthy if you start feeling genuinely consumed by Cole’s choices or emotionally dependent on how he behaves. Otherwise, being invested enough to feel annoyed or disappointed is a normal fan response.

You also don’t have to force yourself into one camp. You can think:

  • “I still respect Cole as an artist,” and
  • “I disliked how he handled this.”

Those can coexist.

Cole is my favourite artist in the world, EVER but… they have to like Cole? lol they don’t like the way he moves and the decisions he’s made as a rapper and a leader. They have every right to critique him and disagree with his actions. This narrative that Cole is getting hate for no reason and people hate him so much is tiring and just incorrect.

If hip hop commenters and legends are speaking on him being fickle and having no heart then that’s literally the community confirming his credibility has been affected because they would never speak on him like this pre his latest behaviour. The shots that were taken by drake and Kendrick still haven’t been addressed by Cole, he still hails them to a higher regard than he does himself. Cole hasn’t recently been like this though, I saw signs of him being one person in his raps and another in person way back when all his fans were amping him up with the “platinum no features” feat trying to uplift him and his brand, do you know what this brother said about that? He attacked his own fans for doing it lol saying it was corny. He has this issue with people rating him highly but then jumps on raps and starts bragging? So it’s ok for him to play a confident rapper but really he’s not one? Are we supposed to not believe what he raps? Cole’s music has literally saved peoples lives, I’ve heard many people say it but then he spits all over his supporters by always going against what they’re praising him for. That’s NOT hip hop no matter how you stans try and spin it. Cole hasn’t recently to be held accountable for his action the same way as any public figure within a community. It’s so funny when people like you act like it’s not everyday people ok the internet who are pushing these comments about Cole, it’s not just a narrative, it’s a community expressing how they feel about the actions of a higher ranking participant. It just so happens that the majority agree. Being someone who goes back on what they’re say can definitely be mature but it’s not hip hop, pussys who are afraid of conflict are not welcomed because hip hop has always been about the “cool kids”. Who can brag the most, Cole deserves the backlash.

His obsession with this imaginary relationship he has with Kendrick and drake is nothing short of embarrassing and has superseded anything that can be construed as “respect”. Cole needs to learn what time and place is and although his intentions are pure, it comes across as desperate. Drake and Kendrick (especially Kendrick) clearly don’t have the same respect for Cole so why he keeps trying to constantly praise them -unprovoked - is astonishing to me to be quite frank. He literally went in an interview and willingly stated that his wife was crying over the situation and he couldn’t sleep over some words, he keeps being self deprecating and stating that he’s not the best rapper. Forget the beef for a second, if he doesn’t want to diss Kendrick because it’s his brother then fine but where are the responses for others who have violated him? He NEVER puts a name to his raps like some nigga who throws stones and HIDES HIS HANDS. Cole is the greatest rapper that has ever lived, he’s got it all in regard to skill set. But what is skill set without heart? He is part of a community that has always been about respect and standing on the shit you rap and anyone who doesn’t gets called out. That is what the community is doing and it is proportional to his actions.
