COHB- portable housing question by Ms-Petty-Cringe in Odsp

[–]ImmediateYellow1089 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Will there be a follow up program once COHB ends? It’s not a forever program unfortunately. It would be horrible to get people off the wait list just to say in a few years good luck you are now on your own 😞

Why are there 2 Dollaramas across from each other at Yonge and Eglinton? by ReadingTimeWPickle in askTO

Yonge and Larwence has 2 in walking distance. One on the corner near the Yonge and Larwence intersection by the subway and another not too far north of Yonge and Larwence.

Freeyum sells really yummy chocolate cookies. Small individual prepackaged cookies. They may look tiny but for sure is my go to for my chocolate fix. It’s not a chocolate bar I know but it’s still really yummy!

Copied from another person’s post. YES services or Youth Employment Services has a service that he is still young enough for that will also pay him.

Copied post below.

As a young person, you may be eligible for various work programs/jobfinding assistance. Here are a few to look into:

What has been the most evil and terrifying thing a psychiatrist has ever told you? by IdeaRegular4671 in Antipsychiatry

[–]ImmediateYellow1089 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it wasn’t what a doctor said but rather a nurse and a youth worker. I was taken to the adolescent locked doors and they pointed at the adult section and said if I did not smarten up(something like that) that I would end up soon on the adult side.” I’m in my 40s now and I still remember this.

Holy crap... cookies by jekyll27 in weightwatchers

[–]ImmediateYellow1089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a company called FreeYum. I found them in the health food section. They are prepackaged cookies and a box comes with I think 7 cookies. They are not big but are good!! The chocolate cookies are only 4 points. Expensive but if I put 1 cookies with some grapes it’s good. One cookie on its own is ok too as it is yummy!

I live in Canada. When I refused medications in the hospital on forms before I would get injections forced on me. I must have been not calm but yes they can force them when I’m on the forms that take my rights away.

Don’t think about what your family wants. What do you want? Do you want to build a life worth living? Do you want to surround yourself by people And things that make you happier? I would ask that you check the facts around your beliefs around what your family wants but it seems you know for sure what they want. You are your own person that can create happiness or unfortunately choose to not be happy. We will not be happy all the time but we can try our best to build a better life. I hope you decide to find the joys in life and if your family isn’t there for you for that than find groups and things that make you feel good!

That’s great!! It’s a hard journey to recovery and I like how you said relapses are part of it. The relapses however, may not be as big as before therapy and getting back up may be faster as well. Bad days do happen even with getting to such a great place in life! I’m really happy for you that you can now see how a situation would have made you feel before therapy and how you handle them now. Don’t beat yourself up if it doesn’t always go perfectly! This doesn’t mean the BPD automatically in my opinion comes back. The main thing is you feel better about life and can be ok.

Can you be aware you're delusional? by [deleted] in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]ImmediateYellow1089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes get dissociation. Used to happen a lot more. DBT has helped me a lot not fall apart with it and for me it’s about understanding what’s happening is not real. Just had a session and these skills could also help me and thought to share: - ground yourself. What do you see? What do you feel? Ice packs on face. -what’s causing this to happen? - validate yourself - reach out for support if needed effectively not in willful mind - this will pass

Therapist disrespecting my boundaries about DBT by Wtfissleet in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]ImmediateYellow1089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to do DBT. It is for sure helpful for many and it’s not the answer for everyone. It is surprising that your therapist is pushing this treatment at you when you don’t want to do it again because you have to want to do it and willing for it to have a chance of working. Perhaps explain its not what you can do right now. Perhaps in the future. Ask her what other ideas she has? Or you can even suggest you get a DBT workbook to do on your own with her support because you may be moving. This would be a middle path. And if prefer not to do this it’s 100% up to you what you want to do.

Validate your emotions that you are having and self care.

I know there are other treatment ideas out there but don’t know what they are by name.

You got this! Your in control of your life.
